Hi there, I'm having problems with my Buick. It had been sitting for 6 years and started up like once a month. I've rebuilt the motor on it along with the turbo. I've bought a new computer chip, changed the eyes on most ground wires, and replaced the ignition module on the steering column. The car with start up and idle fine for 2-3 minutes. After that it starts back firing and missing and then it just shuts off. I would try to start it back up and it won't. If anyone has any ideas please let me know what's wrong. This is my dream car and I'm willing to do what it takes to get her running.

Could be maf, cam sensor, coilpack/ignition module or a few other things.

Try this site turbobuick.com

I have already replaced the cam sensor, coil pack, ignition module, and and even plug wires. None of these things have fixed it. I'll definitely give the website a try though. Thanks much!!

You said it was sitting for six years? Did you put Stabil or something like that in the tank? I think bad fuel could be your issue. The filter or pump might cause that also.

As the poster above mentioned the fuel filter is a strong possibility as well and you might as well change it anyway if its been sitting for 6 years.

When you turn the key to the on position do you hear the fuel pump prime?

One of the first few things we did was replace the fuel pump and empty the tank. We have already done just about everything we know to do. I bought a new computer from advanced and have came to the conclusion that the computer is probably bad. Thanks for all the ideas everyone, and if you all have any other ideas please be sure to let me know.

Thinking outside the box here but maybe the vaccum line runing to the turbo is off? Or the oil sensor/wiring needs replacing? I had an issue with the oil sensor wiring which killed the engine. Sometimes its little things like that which have a big affect on the engine.

I don't think its anything like that. It will start up and run perfect for about 2-3 minutes. 5 minutes later when I go to start it back up, the car spits and sputters then dies out. I'm leaning towards the computer being bad. Is it possible to have gotten a bad computer from Advanced?
