Hi all,

Not sure if anyone else is having this problem or not but its unbelievably annoying and I would like some advice. So around 1900-2100 RPMs in 1st-4th gear there is this really pronounced rattling sound somewhere in the vicinity of the driver side A pillar or maybe even somewhere inside the door panel itself (i have not been able to pin point the source of the vibrating sound. It has recently been getting worse and I cant take it anymore.

I need some suggestions on what i should do. How hard is it to take off the door panel on this car? (looks a little more complicated than my old mercury mountaineer 😛). if i do end up finding it on my own what can i do to make it stop?? if i cant find it where can i take it? will an car audio store be able to chase it or maybe the stealership or just a normal shop?

Many thanks!

I'm currently getting a rattling sound from two sources. One is the little grill on the tweeter at the corner of the window near the "A" pillar. The other is more noticeable, and comes from the slider that adjusts the seatbelt height. I know for sure I've seen a post about the latter and, if I'm remembering correctly, the dealer fixed it by applying a square of felt to the back side of it to keep the two plastic pieces from coming in contact. Both are on my list for the next time I go in.

We have one that seems to be coming from just left of the center hump. Really annoying on a car with 4k miles on it, but this is my 6th GM vehicle so not at all surprising.

We're truly sorry to learn about this issue with your vehicle, Dietzd. Sadly we're unable to offer any technical advice as to how you'd repair this yourself. However, we'd be more than happy to coordinate with your dealership to get this taken care of. Please send us a private message if interested.

Please keep us posted on your next service visit, IndyGS. We're here to offer additional assistance if necessary.

We can imagine how frustrating this must be, FirehawkNS. We'd like the opportunity to work through this matter with your dealership. Please private message us your VIN, full contact information, and dealership name if interested.

I have the same issue. It is extremely annoying! Specially coming from a new car. Mine seems to be coming from my radio somewhere and another rattle from the little secret pocket underneath the auto light switch.

Thanks for the reply, we are already waiting on some warranty parts to come in for work at a local dealer, I will mention it then. I haven't been pleased with this dealer so far, so I will comment if I feel I need to take it somewhere else after this is complete.
