All Tires loosing Air pressure

All Tires loosing Air pressure - have been since I got the car new

Dealer has looked at the tires/Rims and says they can not find anything wrong with them

They reset the system and the Tech put 40PSI in each tire - I called the service department about that mistake

I didn't let the air out to 33 - just kept them that way so I could test how much they would loose

So less then a month ago - April 11 2016 - ALL 4 at 40PSI

Car has less then 2900 miles on it

Now
RF - 27PSI - loss of 13PSI
LF - 34PSI - loss of 6PSI
RR - 35PSI - loss of 5PSI
LR - 35PSI - loss of 5PSI


Anyone else ever have an issue like this?

I was thinking valve stems - but that seems odd for all 4 tires

The only other thing that I can think of is defect or cracked Rims - but again all 4?

were the 40 psi and the 34/35 psi readings taken on a cold tire at approximately the same air temperature?
are these the car system pressure readings on the display or are you using a hand held digital gauge?
the 27 psi reading is suspect as being an issue with the tire or the rim.
did the dealer break all four tires off the rims and check the rims for anything out of the ordinary in the tire bead seating area?
there is no chance you car is being subjected to someone intentionally letting air out?

All readings where taken when warm - both the 40 and the 34/35- same drive time and miles - with in 2 deg difference in outside temp
Cold they where - leaving the dealer
RF 37PSI
LF 39PSI
RR 37PSI
LR 38PSI
Readings where on display and confirmed with digital and mech tire gauge
27 PSI is the one that was my most concern last service (Also in for the recall on the power rack) - but the others are doing the same - just more slowly
Dealer did not break the beads - just took the rims off the car- inspected for tire damage - confirmed there was none - checked valve stems - then over filled the tires to 40PSI
No chance some one is letting out the air

Every time I mount a tire I spray the entire bead down really good with soapy water... bubbles forming means you've got a leak. Big leaks I go after right away. Sometimes right after mounting, there may be a very slight bead leak that will seal itself up after driving a little bit... I'll mark those and check again a week later to see if it's still leaking.

You can take the tires off one at a time, soak them down with some soapy water, mark that spot(s) where it's leaking, bring back to the dealer, show it to them (bring your spray bottle) and ask them to fix it.

Walt - would live to do that - but I had total knee reconstruction after a traumatic injury - and I am still recovering so cant dismount the wheels and check - great idea though - would have done it if I was able to

My thoughts too, check the tire bead. Also replace the valve stems.

You need the dealer to break the tires off the rim to inspect the bead seating area. If necessary get Buick Customer Relations involved.
Does the dealer have a soak tank to check for bubbles?

There is a very good chance that losing 6 psi over the course of three weeks will not bubble fast enough for you to see it unless you are really really patient. It's slow enough that it may be impossible to detect in 3 out of the 4 you listed. Safe thing to do under warranty if have the dealer break down and reseal all beads and replace all valve stems and see if that improves things.

Do you depend on the cars reading or do you use a tire pressure gauge?

I currently have a similar problem with my left front tire that first occurred last Fall. It will lose 6-8 lbs over the course of a week. All other tires hold 38 psi cold. Validated with a hand-held radial dial analog gauge.

I visited my dealer and told them to take a look and they couldn't find anything in the tread. I suspected a bad valve stem but it checked out ok. The tire was not soaked. I am a little nervous about them breaking a 20" rim down without marring it. I'll cope with it until I get new rubber this Summer from my tire guy.

Dash display has been pretty accurate (OnStar email alerts too) thus far.

In short, I'd stay on the dealer's ass until they resolve the issue. Don't do ANYTHING yourself! It's a NEW car with a warranty that you paid for, hold them to it! They could easily replace your wheels from another slightly used one with the same rim and similar miles....

If you are still in the DIY mode......mix the liquid soap with similar amount of glycerin and some water (trick that also works for making a solution for your kids to blow soap bubbles)
The glycerin does something to the solution so it holds the bubbles together longer. I had a pin hole in a tire that I could not find and did the tire in segments, in about an hour, the leak was quite evident using this solution as it bubbled up and stayed there.
Second option would be to take the fastest leaking tire to a tire store......tell them the problem, see what they find, then take those results to the dealer.

Car is at the dealer - dropped it off at 10AM

They are going to keep it over night to see if it they can replicate - but the service manager acknowledged there is an issue - at least with the front right pass side tire/rim

The OnStar system reports really help - as I ran it every week and it showed loss of PSI in all wheels - esp the right front pass side

I must say http://www.jimcurley.com has been very open to addressing this issue - Greg the service manager has been great

Love the car - but -
Didn't make if off the lot when I purchased it - Power steering failed = had to wait 2 days for delivery
Tire issue has been going on since purchase - 1 week after delivery
Critical recall was pointed out by this board - took Buick 3 weeks to come up with a schedule and a time to fix

The thing that gets me is - this was a special order car - show room
As the members all have pointed out - AWD Turbo - non GS

But before the problem with delivery - the car was detailed - no issue
Once it got fixed - the wheels had wax writing on them - that should not be there after prep for delivery

Hell may be I am making to much of it - but there was a 2015 Black regal with 4 flat tires when I was ready to by the 2016 - same wheels

I am sure it will be fixed - just frustrating - hell I should just get the Honey Comb wheels and tires like the old T-Type/GN - like I want in the first place
