2022 Buick Envision Preferred
Hello guys. I read a post from several years ago and probably no one will reply there, so I’m creating a new thread.

I’ve been trying to install a Noco Genius 2 in my 2022 Envision, but the connectors have a big rubber head and I can’t use the positive terminal in the fuse box where the jump starter connector goes. So I was wondering if Can I use the the bolt next to it? It says 175A but I don’t know if that one is fine. Also check in the pictures attached if the negative goes in that ground in the strut towel.

Regards

That post next to the positive jumper connection is fine as well as the ground on the strut.

I agree. Remember, the amount of current coming from the Battery Tender will never exceed the rating of that fuse, so it should be safe to go through it for your purposes.

The issue would be if it's a 20A, 15A, 10A, or other size, and the amount of current (amperage) you intend to push through it exceeds its rating. THEN you'll have issues.

The Noco Genius 2 he wants to use puts out 2 amps maximum.

Yep, I have Noco 5 and 10 too.
But I like to charge and maintain all my batteries at lower amps. The battery in that Envision was low, I had to recovery once when car arrived from auction.

Thank you all you guys for the responses!

PS: Noco 10 is a beast when you need to bring from death a battery and more if it is sulfated.

Well, something weird happened. I removed the battery yesterday and fully changed it with the Noco2. Today I installed it again in the car, connected the positive and then the negative (something that bother me is every time negative cable touches the negative terminal in the battery, the alarms goes off. Is that normal?) and I opened the door, dash was on, lights, everything until I tried to start it up and then everything went off, felt a push in the brake pedal and there is not signs of power. I removed the battery and the tender cable I installed yesterday. What do you think that could happened? It did that because that cable? It doesn’t make any sense. Also removing all back I saw that it was a missing nut in the positive area (see picture) so it might was lose and that sensor shut down the system?? Weird that key fob opened the doors and dash and screen had power. It just happened when I attempted to start the car.

Any idea guys?

About the missing nut, the car was working before. But, I just looking for what could caused that. There is nothing weird inside the fuse boxes.

That's the most recent recall: Loose Nut Behind Wheel. LOL

Joking aside, anything metallic that is loose and roaming around like that could cause an issue. A connection that is not tight could also cause issues with the sensor and/or BCM that is trying to make sense of readings that are all over the place or just plain missing.

I think I know why it happened. When I put the negative cable with the negative terminal, it sparked, and the alarm went off. This might have triggered the security system lockout. Or maybe it was just that missing nut! 😆😂 I removed the Noco tender cable and battery for 1-2 hours (30 min is good enough to reset the system) and put all back together this time with the nut tightened on! The alarm didn’t go off when the negative terminal was touched, and the key fob started working, lights on and screen displaying that beautiful Buick presentation 😆😂, but I didn’t start it. I will do it tomorrow… it was late and I didn’t want to remove cables and battery again.
