biggest complaint about your LaCrosse

(2006) Chintzy interior plastics do not hold up well in the Arizona sun. Driver side armrest (door) cracked, glove box hinge broke. Who makes a hinge pin out of plastic? Leather seat flaking. CC intermittent.

The SUPER SLUGGISH media system. The stupid thing sounds when you select a button, but does it change to whatever it is? Oh, no. This is ridiculous, Buick, in the 21st century.

I own a 2014 LaCrosse. The drivers seat has slight movement in the frame and "clicks" when turning left and right. After 4 visits to two dealers they finally acknowledged it and told me it is part of the design, nothing can be done. I have never had a car do this, poor design!!!!

Gremlins. I have a 2015 Buick LaCrosse. You would think by now they would have worked out the bugs. I've owned this car about 6 months and I continue to get random problems that usually don't affect driveability, at least not yet. Today I had some blinking lights on the dash. One was the low battery indicator. I was quite upset. I wish I had taken a video of it. Well, I did the typical thing. I turned off the car, locked the doors, waited for display to turn off. Turned car on again and lights were gone. Drove to work and everything was fine.

I did call my dealer to make an appointment but canceled it because there was nothing for them to see after I restarted the car, and probably no stored codes.

Between these problems and the poor Intellilink system I am starting to regret buying a Buick.

Oh, and every time I sit in the driver's seat I feel like there is something poking out of the seat. It's not the lumbar support. It feels like something else.

Drivers sunshade is too small (probably passengers too, but I don't use that one). Does not adequately block the sun when rotated to the door position.

I agree and this is a problem with ALL GM products.

Mine telescope, covering the rear end of the top of the door's window. If I don't telescope it, then it's too short, but fine if I do.

Do the safety features, blindspot, lane departure, cross traffic, help overcome the blind spots in a Lacrosse. Thanks.

Yes, with the exception of:
  1. Motorcycles in the far side of the lane you're moving into (blind spot warning does not pick them up most of the time).
  2. Anything that's concealed by the massive and unfortunately-placed A (forward) pillars, such as pedestrians, bicyclists, motorcyclists, and subcompacts. I've never had such poor forward visibility in a car before.

even in the center armrest?

even in the console under the center armrest?

I was going to say the same thing!

If these are the biggest complaints, then Buick has done an excellent job. Go to the Cadillac forums for the DTS and see all the issues they have. Blown head gaskets, coolant leaks, can't shift out of park, severe oil leaks, and etc.

I have posted comments about the sluggish media system on several forums. Not one response from Buick about it. It's time to fix the problem by fixing the software and give us a free update.

I have a 2013 that did that, after 3 visits they found a crack in one of the seat tracks! They replaced them under warranty. Have them take the seat completely off the car like they did with mine.

Well. Had it for 3 years. Now at 111K I am sinking $3K into repairs. 2 wheel bearings, entire driveshaft for awd. This is ridiculous!!!!!! You can't replace the bearing on a drive shaft they are built in. howling like mad. GOODBYE BUICK... FOREVER!!!!!! I will no longer be a buick owner. This is on top of a bad radio/gps unit, multiple fixes on alignment, seat ghost, and uncomfortable seating position.

MY recommendation, buy something else.

First I need to say that I love my LaCrosses. I have a 2011 and a 2015. Having said that, I will add that neither are perfect. I'm posting here in case the LaCrosse design team takes note. I've already posted elsewhere about the unresponsive touch screen on the 2011. Others have posted about that also, and I can't understand the problem. If they got it right on the 2011 why doesn't it work on the 2015? This is a safety issue for me. I'm always needing to punch the thing several times and keep my eyes on the screen rather than the road. A Buick rep has contacted me and is being my advocate with the dealership where I bought the car, but it appears to be a hardware or software flaw that doesn't have a fix yet. Again - the 2011 works fine.

Another design flaw in my opinion is the touch screen controls for adjusting the 2015 climate control temp. Again, I'm needing to take my eyes off the road to see if I touched the right place. I much prefer tactile buttons like on the older models.

Another item is the fuel gage. What's with the non-linear display of fuel remaining?? The half full mark is 3/4 down the range. 1/4 full looks like close to empty. Why not have half full be half way down the range??

Another step backwards is the heads up display on the 2015. The numbers are smaller and my biggest complaint is that it doesn't show the high-beam indicator. To me that's second only to speed. I don't care about the tach, phone charge, song being played, and some of the other info. But the HUD is one of the main reasons for loving the LaCrosses. I find myself either unknowingly/unintentionally driving with my hi-beams on or continually needing to check for the little blue indicator on the in-dash display.

Finally, the push-button outside door locks. My wife and I usually exit the car at about the same time. One of us locks the doors and the other hits the lock button at about the same time and unlocks the doors. Many times we return to the car and it is unlocked because of this. I know that It seems to be a simple fix to simply wait and stare at the locks to see if they are in the engaged position, or to discuss with the wife who will lock the doors, but much of the exit/lock routine is hard-wired into both of our brains.

I also wish that there was a way to select EITHER regular cruise control or adaptive cruise. I love the adaptive CC, but there are times in hilly terrain that I don't like the downhill braking.

Well, I'll end as I began - I love the LaCrosses. That's why I own two. But there are some things that I would like to change.

How about needed a new driveshaft to replace a bearing $900. How about needing a whole new transfer case and having to replace rear end cause it's cheaper. $3300. Biggest POS I have ever owned. I suggest all of you with all wheel drive dump these vehicles before you have issues. Or don't keep it after warranty. Only 113,000 miles

Several times now the HUD will drift and I have to readjust it. I should mention it at the next service appointment but I don't want them to rip apart the dash.

2011 CXS

Biggest complaint is the cheap chrome painted plastic around the door handles, console, and nav. Its all peeling off.

A leaking sun roof on my 2006 LaCrosse. it wasn't installed correctly at the friggin factory.

2012 Buick LaCrosse Touring model:
Since new, the trunk opens by itself. Hundreds of times over years. Now, when we open the driver's door, it opens every time.
And the rubber-covered flat trunk switch does not work.
Sometimes when sitting in the car and pushing the start button, the trunk opens.
Sometimes during the night, it opens.
We often do not sleep well when at a hotel because of this, with a trunk full of traveling items.
