Buick Verano Disapearing Paint Issue

Same thing going on with my 2014 Verano. Called Buick, they said nothing they can do. It is out of warranty. Call the dealership.

I own a 2013 brown Verano. I have had the same issues as you. The paint on the trunk, the hood and the roof are all damaged. Car runs great. Only 75,000 on it. I will end up getting rid of it because of the paint. Too bad.

I have a 2014 Buick Verano bought used but was still under warranty Few years ago I started noticing the hood….scratches, dull, faded, just awful looking. Then roof and truck looking very bad too. There should be a recall. I’ve noticed other cars like mine with the same paint problem.

Mine is a 2o14 black Verano. I. Mostly on horizontal surfaces. Never again GM. Back to Toyota.

has anyone with these cars done the wet sand and polish to try and restore it back? Or did everyone just do nothing? or just go full new paint job? I have a 2013 Dark grey metallic that looks like crap!!!! same as you all said,,hood, roof, trunk.

We have a 2013 in Luxo Blue Metallic, trunk and roof are fading horribly, talked to my body shop guy about it, only option is a repaint, not cheap, he quoted $4K to do roof and trunk, and match wouldn't be perfect. It's sad, we've only got 38,000 miles, car is garaged nightly, gets clayed and waxed twice a year, and the paint is still failing.

It's sad that after being bailed out in 08. They are still making poor choices. I used to be a sales manager at Subaru and we also had a Mitsubishi dealership. The paint did the exact same thing on my friends 04 Endeaver. Mitsubishi repainted no questions asked. The dealerships ALL have slush money and can make it happen. Everybody ever wonder why Honda Toyota and Subaru hold their value? Customer service and reliability. My 77 yr old mother has 2013 Verano with 55000 miles doing the exact same thing. Shame on you GM. I hope you don't get bailed out ever again. You're still doing the exact same thing. Corporate greed......Sad

It's a clearcoat defect that only affects the top surfaces of the vehicle for some reason. The satellite antenna on top still looks brand new on mine which is wierd. I've buffed it and sealed it and it does nothing because the clearcoat is compromised. The only way to fix it is to have those areas recleared. I've had my hood recleared because I work in a body shop but I haven't done the truck lid or roof yet.

I have been hearing that it is mostly the darker colors that is the problem. However, keep a close eye as it is very hard to recognize and see until you notice it. Paint will start to dull, then look like it is just fading away. Very small (what appears to be) random lines or scratches and rough to the touch.

I Had a 2014 Verano garage kept it went to my so when his car died. I had the paint ceramic coated and waxed the whole time we had the car. The paint (black) on the hood, top and trunk now looks flat black. We tried to buff it out a couple of times to no avail took it to the dealer their attitude was damn sucks to be you. My son doesn't care as long as the car runs and drives and does not break down. The car now has 136,000 miles on it and has flat black paint oh well the engine is a beast 2.0 liter with the manual my son loves his Verano. GM does not care about the pain issues call all you can hope you get help... RFHjr
