We purchased our car May 2013 and have been having a problem with the vibration since about the 2nd month we have owned it. I have brought it to the first dealer about 7 times with no luck. I finally brought it to a second dealer at least 4 time and they again cannot fix it. It is really frustrating to have a car that is supposed to be quiet and I cannot even use my Bluetooth phone settings because the rattling is too annoying. I would continue to take it in but taking off of work this much is getting excessive. Besides the rattle I really enjoy the car, but at this point we are probably going to have to trade it in. Is there anyone who has any suggestions?

Where do you roughly think this vibration is coming from?? Trunk, inside the car, outside driver etc. Also is it a rattle like something is loose?? From what i've experience from my Verano, i might be able to narrow it down for you if that helps!!

Is the vibration at all speeds over 45, or just over a narrow range of speeds? Do you feel it thru the steering wheel, thru the seat, or is it more something that you hear? Please describe the nature of the vibration more.

Hello Megan Haas,

Can I be of assistance? I understand that you have been to the dealership for this issue multiple times regarding this issue but the issue continues. I do apologize that you are in this current vehicle situation. I would be happy to look into this concern for you and create a case in our system to document your vehicle concern. The vibration is coming from my passenger side wheel well. They have tightened it numerous times but as soon as I leave I hear the vibration again.

Hi Megan, hope Buick Customer Service is able to help you. I'm impressed that they read the forums and seem to be responsive.

What has been tightened in your left wheel well? If the vibration is localized like that, here are some of the potential culprits which come to mind:

Out of balance wheel (possible, especially if you hit any big potholes)
Out of balance tire (possible defect in how the tire was built, or possible damage due to road hazard)
Bad CV joint (not likely)
Out of balance drive shaft (not likely)
Bad wheel bearing

There are some pretty smart folks on the forum, maybe other have some more ideas. Good luck!

There is a plastic wheel opening liner that stops debris from hitting metal and making a sound. There is also a noise baffle that came loose on a coworkers 2012 had to have tightened that keeps noise out behind the fender indoor on the passenger side.

Yes, did you trade it in? I'm test driving a 2016 and no one can figure out why this red one has a vibration, shimmy, shake at the right front around 20 mph just after shift to second gear. (228) 326-8851

To answer this question pending all your suspension parts are in good working order. I found that replacing all the push pins on the wheel liner with smaller ones will make a tighter seal to the wheel well. As well, when you open your driver or passenger door and look towards the inside fender, you will see a long grey foam insulator between the fender and body. Sometimes this gets pushed in and is not seated properly. Believe or not, makes the craziest sound and rattle which will make you think something is very wrong with your car and will take forever to diagnose unless you have sound recorders set up around the vehicle to pin point. Higher winds and speeds amplify it more greatly. I've had my Verano brand new since 2012 and literally know this car inside and out now. Even have the dealer service manual which makes fixing problems and diagnosing much easier. Saved a lot of $$$$$ from this manual. Just don’t have the time to get on here much anymore to answer questions or look things up to help people. I’ve had so many issues, I can see by reading this forum from time to time people have been having the same issues or similar. Yes some people will say their Verano is fine no problems blah, blah, but trust me this car will cost you a fortune sooner or later regardless how well you maintain it. GM should have issued countless recalls with this vehicle I can’t even begin to go through all the parts and problems again. Look at the Chevy Cruze, same platform and just as many problems, if not more. But I have mentioned most of them before in another forum. Vehicles are not build to last long anymore. Vehicle prices increase yearly, and cheaper parts installed. Theses engineers know the life span on most parts, and magically they happen to fail right after warranty. Surprise, I think not!!! These corporations are not dumb and spend a lot of money on engineering and development. Anything to save them money in the short term, and make more money long term when warranty expires is money well spent in their eyes. And to boot, some will still come back after the warranty expires anyways to get their known problems fixed. Win all around for them lol, and the consumer suffers most. They never lose. We do!!!
