Cargo fence for tour x.

A
Because they are dealing with someone with severe OCD like a mad dog that just won't let go. 😎
Are you more or less likely to get another Buick/GM after all that? So far my experiences have been less than stellar. Not terrible but certainly not where near what we have gotten from Audi. They have always gone above and beyond. When we first got the car I saw in the forum that I should have received a catalog of accessories, when I called they sent it out overnight with a certificate for $100 or $150. Didn't expect that so it was super nice. Then last year when I thought the Audi was on its last leg I wrote them a message thanking them for the great ownership experience, I told them how many miles I had on it and wished I could get another but that it was currently out of my budget. A few weeks later I got a package from them with a bunch of swag, a certificate showing the then current miles and a nice note. The last one really surprised me since I flat out said they weren't even an option for me going forward. Not that I expect the same level from Buick, but since the sales people try to play the cars off as a luxury brand they need to do a lot better.

The thing is, Buick is not considered really a true luxury brand in GM by the general public. They are like a tier 2 luxury brand. The real luxury brand role belongs to Cadillac. (Although I doubt that Caddy would do anything like that.)
Back to your inquiry about myself, I am unlikely to get another Buick/GM given that I have a strong dislike toward (hate is too strong of a word to describe it, but it is not that far off) any SUV/crossovers, and GM is killing all cars like FoMoCo along with FCA.
I will likely to drive my wagon until its wheels fall off.

I completely agree it isn't a luxury brand but walking into a Buick dealer they sure like to pretend that their models are upscale. I had several dealers try to tell me what great materials they use etc, yet most is surpassed by and Accord.

Anyway I will probably drive this till the wheels fall off too. Unless of course someone starts making manual turbo wagons... then I might have to jump.

You really aren't missing much from not having the cargo fence. In my opinion it looks better than it works.
I have an InstaCrate from Costco in the cargo area for keeping things from moving everywhere whenever I need to do grocery shopping. Sadly, the InstaCrate itself slides around in said area (I am sure you guys understand the issue with this). 😅
Therefore I thought the fence can at least keep the crate from sliding forward and backward. 🤔
Not sure if the Mercedes' one would be able to keep it from sliding around.

I agree with that statement. I didn’t receive the fence when I purchased my ‘19 so I just purchased one off of eBay for about $60.00.

Can't find the fence for that low price.
But still looking for the part number of the underfloor storage though.

Strangely enough, I was getting the LCA fix today at my local dealer (who I didn't buy the car from) and went to get a loaner from them. In the office of the service staff who handles the loaners were two of the flex rails sitting on the floor, new in their plastic bags. After asking about them, she just offered to give me one for free. Apparently, they get them with their XT4 loaners and people generally hate them and ask for the fence to be removed. Something about them being annoying to move around and get in the way.

All that said, I got my rail that didn't come with my '18 TourX Essence with the right RPO codes and promptly stashed in the back where the understorage tray is missing. :-D So.... check with your local dealer when getting service done and maybe they'll hook you up.

Do you mean the partition that covers the cargo area or a Cargo Grid like this:

I was going to purchase a grid from over the pond, but realized the US cars are not set up with the correct provisions (mounting points in the headliner). I'm unsure if it can be retrofitted on a car with the panoramic moon roof as well.

Is there anything similar that can function as such?
Currently I have a hard metal divider which I think should be attached to the floor and stretched to the roof. The thing with that is I would loose the area between the two posts and the rear seats. Instead I have the two posts "digging" into the floor but they are attached with zip ties to the rear child latch points. The effect is the metal mesh is angled towards the back of the car so you loose some cargo area that way.

From my research I noticed that the US spec TourX is missing the attachment points in the roof to make this (or the loose fabric mesh) attachment.
I did see a hard metal divider which utilizes the front anchor points to attach to the floor; not sure how/where else it attaches and if I get the Buick it would not have those floor anchor points I think...

this is the cargo fence that I bought to keep my dog in the rear. It can attach behind the front seats too if you wanted to as it attaches to the head rest bars.

Does it rattle or creek? In my current vehicle I ended up using a rubber hose cut into small sections and cut through to act as spacers / dampers.

I was all gaga when I saw the first photo, wish our US cars would have that mount point in the roof.

I did some part number digging a year ago. The parts are available to retrofit all the mounting points for that cargo barrier. It wasn’t clear if it would work for sunroof cars, though, so I gave up. I’d assume some welding would be needed as well.

it's pretty solid as when in place its held against the head rests and the whole of the seat back. Being three pieces means you can adjust it to fit differently depending on your need.

that being said the roof to floor rigidity isn't ever going to be a solid as something with a braced mounting point. For my dog it works fine and it allows me to take it out easily.

Anyone tried this?

I sincerely thank this thread for the information on the mounting points, which I do not have.

I was hoping to find this available in the USA or Canada. The ones on e-bay are not sending to the USA. I checked Holden down under, Vauxhall across the pond and Opal in Germany. I have had no luck.

Insignia Sports Tourer (2008-) Dog Guard

I did find a few nets that can go across the entire width of the car. They are netting and could be shredded by a mid to big dog. Perhaps even a small dog with separation issues.

Here is what I found on Amazon. It looks like it might be hard to get in and out of the car with it attached to the front grab bars.

I ordered the cargo fence for a Mercedes Benz ML as suggested earlier in this thread. Got it on eBay for about $50 shipped. It fits perfectly and could easily be passed off as a Buick OEM solution if it had a different logo on it.

Works great holding groceries and cargo in place. Definitely recommend getting one.

How exactly did you bolt this up?
I bought a very similar divider and there was no way to connect the rectangular pieces. Maybe my set is missing something? I have the plastic hooks that hook up to the headrest but no way to connect the plastic hook with the plastic that is on the cargo area of the car.
Please advise.

this video shows the same type I have (first one on the video) the hooks screw into the block and then there is a tension dial on the block that tightens and basically keeps the gate in place thru pressure.

Mine is a pure plastic "hook" where the bolt from the larger item just goes in.
There were some loose nuts too but they will not fit into the "hook".

Would you mind taking more photos of yours (disassembled)?
