So I may be the only one who thinks the chrome finish 20s take the car from "sharp" to "just had a good year in crack sales", that is just a little over the top, but before I trade someone for their 19s I thought I'd try to tone them down a bit by applying clear plasti dip.

Here's the before:

I applied the dip tonight, I think it looks cool but I don't think I applied it very well, the finish is not smooth at all for various reasons. (it's cold, I'm new at this, I don't have the best version of the spray nozzle, not sure about spray distance / coating level, etc.)

I'm going to wait and take pictures in the daylight.

I like it. Personally, i'm bored with black rims. To me its played and doesn't pop like chrome or polished rims. I've also seen a BMW with plastidip that pealed in large patches. Looked like Michael Jackson between skin colors. But to each his own is right.

I really like what you did and might bit it.Might protect the rims from chipping. 🙂

So above was just "before"

Here's some results, the coat is not very smooth. Only after I applied it did I expiriment on some scrap aluminium for how to put it on and get a smooth coat.

Sun was not out today, not the best photos.

I think once it warms up, I'll clean this off and try again.

Father Deth, do you have the GS 19s? / Where do you live, PM me.

Waiting for my "after" pics to post, do mods have to preview everything for new guys?

There they are now.

I don't think they do... not sure though. I usually just put them in photobucket and

Me either. No pics are coming up. I'm not a huge fan of the 20s, the finish seems it's not polished all the way, but regardless there say better than my ugly 18s. The OPC 20s is what I want! Little more subtle.

I can't see it on the iPad Safari browser; then I used Chrome and it works.

They don't show up on my DROID phone but they do on my windows 7 laptop.

Frankly, I think it makes them look like plastic wheel covers. I also agree with Boosted, that the OPC wheels look smashing.

Doesnt look bad, but i like the wheels polished the way they came. Are you happy with it? Did it do what you were hoping?

I'm wondering how it will hold up to a washing... in a few days its gonna be full of brake dust!

put a couple hundred miles on yesterday, and they're already full of break dust.

I like the finish as it came out, also I think I can do a better job with the product.

I agree it does kind of look like a plastic hubcab on here. In person, I think it has more of a brushed metal look, which I do actually like over the chrome. Sounds like I'm alone on that count.

Happened to run into this OPC during my recent trip to Scotland. Wheels are so much better 🙁 Wish we had that option.

If you look closely, the back window almost ends at the back of the car. This car has a slightly different body shape in the rear.
