GM performance parts Regal Stage Kit 2012-2013

I just ordered mine from Pace Performance. My local Buick dealer has experience and said it would be 1.5 hrs to install the tune. 🙂

That's retarded. I talked to the tech and service manager last time I had my regal in for something about how long it would take to flash the ecu. They have an hour min charge, but said it would take 20 minutes tops.

My dealer also charged me the minimum of 1 hour labor. It took them 30 minutes to reflash the PCM and perform a quick test drive.

Seen a thread in one of the UK Vauxhall forums where they compare the various intake kits and panel filters for the Regal/Insignia....
And pretty much every one of them created a bogginess, flat spot or surging at certain rpm.
I'm sticking with the stock setup.
Installing the cheaper phenolic intake spacer will give you more gains than any filter out there with no downsides like flat spots and intake noise....
The only benefit in an intake would be the reusability of it....

Question on the phenolic intake spacer. WERKS sold it as a combo, but the Throttle Body Spacer is no longer available. Original claims of 11 HP were around both combined. Why is the throttle body spacer no longer available?

Werks Ecotec Phenolic Intake Manifold and Throttle Body Spacers

Yeah most dealers charge a 1 hour minimum. I was half expecting them to say something like 3 hours so I don't really care. I was happy to hear they've done them before. He did say the 1.5 hrs was just a quote, and it could be less. I think they're just covering their ass incase something goes weird.

I read through the thread, and saw some questions, but never a definitive answer (likely because the answer is no).... but does anyone know if there's even a thought of making the Stage kit available on 2014+? Would love to get it on my 2014 GS.

Closest you can get is the Injen Intake, Part# SP7033BLK (For the Malibu), and a tune from BNR, Trifecta, etc.

Thanks! That's what I'd thought... just wanted to not have to think about warranty issues. Although based on this thread, seems like it would be hard for a manufacturer to have to prove...

Especially when they sell/sanction a fully modified version of your car.

I am getting my car tuned today and wanted to know if there was a sure way we could tell if the car accepted the tune?

I have had a lot of issues with my GS and I am anticipating that I will have troubles/tune wont load.

Maybe there is a number we can call to see if the code was used & that will tell it?

Thanks!

Not 100% sure but I think if the intake is on without the tune it will trigger a code, I guess drive it around and see if one pops up, other than that not sure how you'd check without bringing it to a technician

check to see if the max boost psi has increased? I do this using an obd connector and an iPhone app Dash Command.

The 11-13s will decrease boost automatically if more air is detected going in or coming out then expected so it shouldn't matter.

No error codes were set with my GMPP Stage Kit. I drove it to the dealer without any issues.
BTW, you can check whether the software was re-flashed with the new calibration here.
Enter your VIN.
Then select "ECM Engine Control Module Programming"
Click on "Next."
Select "Complete History".

If successfully re-flashed, you'll see 2 entries under "Calibration History for: Engine diagnostic" and "Calibration History for: Engine Operation" indicating "For use with GM Accessory Performance Stage Kit."

Can you send a screenshot showing the 2 entries under these categories? I do have the GM Stage Kit/Tune but it is not showing on mine for some reason... see attached. It does have the correct codes though per the GM Stage Kit Instructions.

Putting the intake from GM on is no different than putting an intake on from ZZP or K&N without a tune. They're just covering their ass.

Here you go. Perhaps the difference in the display is due to the difference in model years: my GS is a 2012.

Cal history for GMPP Stage Kit.webp

Thank you so much for this! I found the two entries in there.

Is this history screen put in chronological or random order? I do not see a date on anything.

Got my Stage Tune and Intake.

Old intake box and terrible tubing.

It sounds AWESOME. There are even blow off noises now.
