Please post your miles if u dont mind....just wondering how long these engines will last, im at 58,000 with my 03 but hope it will last much longer🙂 There is a neighbor near me that has 275,000 on his 3.8 lasabre, still running good. Just wondering about the 3.1 century though...

I'm at about 130,000 miles in my '02 Century, and my dad's '04 Century has about 225,000 miles.

His motor still runs like brand new, and don't burn any oil, but the trans is starting to slip. Mine, on the other hand, burns a little oil, but my trans is still strong.

'94 at 88,300. Valve cover gasket leaks and it needs a new fuel pump.

123k miles on my 1999. Engine has a collapsed lifter and ticks all the time, but it's been doing that for over 5 years.

All original so far, except the typical lower intake gasket.

Neighbor down the street just bought last winter a 2001 Century, ex. Taxi cab, has 665,000km on it (415,000 miles) tranny is new from 3 years ago, engine is original though. Says it uses 1 quart of oil per oil change interval (3k miles). Body on that thing is cleaner than mine!

That's funny, I am going to hit 58k on my 2003 Century in the next 2 weeks. It runs perfect, only problem I've had is the muffler rusted a year ago but other than that it's been perfect.

I had a 94 Chevy Corsica with 301,000 miles on the original engine and trans. Never had any major problems with it. Never even replaced the head gaskets or anything. Tranny even shifted silky smooth. Problem was there was short in the wiring leading to the fuel pump and I had worked on it so many times and it was so rusted out that it was time for it to go.

I have a 1999 Century 3.1 engine... bought it in 2001 w/ 95,000 miles.
Currently it has 276,000.

I have a 96 custom with 59,000 on it. yeah 59,000. I've had it for about 3 years, and I put about 40,000 on it. Had to replace the intake manifold gasket in January. Everything else works on it. Going to try to drive it till it dies.

1996 Buick Century Special Wagon bought new in May 1996. 3.1V6. 140,000 miles. Intake manifold replaced @ 105,000 miles. Water Pump replaced @ 90k miles. It has had 3 alternators over the years. Doesn't burn any oil. Transmission has been flushed every 30k miles. Coolant, hoses, belt & thermostat changed every 50k miles. Air conditioning stopped working last year. Can't tell you how many times people have stopped to look at this wagon and offer to buy it. Some of the paint has faded but this car is very dependable and will take you wherever you want to go and it will take you back. Small amount of rust around the roof rack but other than that there are no major issues. It has the original exhaust, starter, timing chain & rear brakes. Stuts & shocks have been replaced once. Keep changing the oil frequently, grease it, keep the air filter clean and the Buick will hardly complain. 🙂 Good Luck with your Buick.

the pos she calls it . wanted to buy her a lacrosse w/ 26000
on it she said no way another buick go figure. this car has never failed her
goes through pa. winters like a champ.

1997 Buick Century Custom 254000 Just now having to replace the lower intake gasket.

My 1998 Bucik Century (3.1L V6) with original engine has 142k. Routine maintenance + replacement: water pump @ 87k, upper and lower intake manifold gaskets @ 127k.

2000 Buick Century Limited, has roughly 158,000 miles on it. Bought it in 2007 with 87,000 miles on it. Runs very good. Moved to Salem OR in 2010 and drove car cross country and averaged 37 mpg. Of course the ac doesn't work but compressor kicks in. Just had intake manifold gasket changed because of an external antifreeze leak. Because the car is from upstate NY where we use salt on the roads, had a lot of rusted brake lines that had to be replaced and both front wheel bearings w/abs replaced. Doesn't burn oil and it still rides comfortable. It may be because of the leather seats. Transmission randomly shifts hard but I've read that it is normal for these tranny's to do that.

Original motor 166000km on it.

Changed head gasket and lower intake at 166000km.

Hopefully she lasts a while.

my century had 185,000 on it, dont know if she will see anymore miles though, thanks to the city road construction in hastings, she is currently sitting in some tow shop garage, like a man in prison awaiting death row.... i want her here!!!

151,000 miles '97 Century Custom. Have changed a hell of a lot on it. I feel so close to it.
