Have this message. GM dealer wants over $125 to hook up their computer. My OBDII reader says error, no serv msg. Anyway to work around the dealer, apparently $7-$800 to repair ? I'm retired and the dealer is always beyond my pay grade. THX Could be camera, module, ..........?

Do you have any idea what the error code is?

It would be somewhat of a guess on what component in the system would be the issue. Other than checking connectors, sensors and fuses on the system not much else is a DIY without a professional scanner as the consumer OBD2 reader won't read at the types of codes.

My OBDII readers say error, no check engine light on. Apparently need and higher type reader ? I only paid $1800 for the car, body etc A condition. Speedometer, D 255K on the clock. Pearl white, chrome wheels, light tan leather interior, sun roof etc. Nice car other than the mileage, Shifts a little rough, guess they replaced trans pump recently. Will have to keep stalking info on both trans and lane departure issue.

Had though fuse also. Can't seem to get internet info or manual info as to what fuse controls lane departure. could be camera, module, not sure. Not willing to make the dealer richer. Between a rock and hard spot, and retired and cheap ?

F37 Object Detection Sensor (Option) is one that's listed but may be the rear bumper sensors.
I believe this is the GM part, but if it's the problem that's unknown.

Walmart sells a code / module reader called a Hypertough HT200 for $50. It's a rebranded Autel MaxiAP AP200. It's a bluetooth device that you plug into the ODBII port. You load an app on you Android or apple device and that app interfaces with the HT200. It'll read every module in your vehicle and tell you all the codes in each module. The first manufacturer download (GM in this case) is free and is good for life. I believe additional manufacturers are $22 and are good for 12 months. Best $50 I've ever spent.

Thank You ! Will try, less expensive route to try enlou of dealer fees.

You may want to confirm if the reader will actually read this type of code, not saying it can't but you may want to check with the manufacturer.

Thank You for more info. Will look up mfg to see, before I spend.

The HT200 / AP200 is not your basic OBDII code reader. It's like having a $600 Autel MaxiSys Diagnostic tool that can read all modules in your vehicle. The only downside is that It does not have all the 2 way communication features for enhanced troubleshooting. For example, you can't turn on and off an evap purge solenoid.

Here's the Vehicle Compatibility site: Vehicle Coverage | AUTEL

For Product Model, select MaxiAP200 (This is the same device as the Hypertough HT200).

I've attached the 2011 Lucerne Compatibility info.

If it doesn't help any, it's Walmart...Return it for a full refund.

Just mentioning for the OP that if can't read the lane departure system it's not going to useful. Purchasing it to and having to return it when just checking with the manufacturer is a simple step. Looking through the attachment it doesn't appear it does and that's why confirming it with the manufacturer would be helpful.

The Vehicle Direction Alert Alarm Warning (VDAAW) module controls the Lane Departure Warning System. This module is listed as supported for the 2011 Lucerne on the Autel vehicle compatibility site for the AP200/HT200. OP should be good to go.

Called Autel in reguards to their AP200 blue tooth reader for my problem. Long and short was told it will not give me a code for for "service lane departure". Was told only an expensive reader with AIDOS system will read the problem. Apparently the program $1000 and reader even more. To bad, guess I will have to bend over and go to the dealer, to try and find out. Thanks everyone for info so I could try to avoid a 2nd mrtg.

Autel AP200 won't read the code in my case, after calling them for verification. Finally got someone to hook up and read. Dealer was a week out. From what they told me, showed me the code is B101 D for my 2011 Buick Lucerne. He believed the module to be bad ? will have to dig further and see if it in reality is the module. Hoping for dumb luck. Apparently no way to disable the issue so it doesn't work and msg goes away.
