Buick Ownership
Buick
This is my Official Build thread - Ive never made one so im not really sure what to do but ill just upload a shit load of pictures lol

Purchased my GS March of 2013 White diamond Tricoat paint , Sunroof , Auto, 19s and completely stock.. at first I had no intention on even buying the GS it was more of a impulse buy.. my brother wanted a new car and after me and him were talking i wanted a new car too so we bought 2 cars the same day , him a 2013 Acura AWD TL and me a Regal GS .. I was looking at 335 diesels , Kia Optima , Mustangs G37s and the ATS but IDK like many of us would agree the Buick just stood out and looks so nice and is different

within the first 48 hours of owning the car i put 15% tints on it .. no car or truck I owned drove without tints

First actual performance mod I did was Trifecta Tune .. Ive always had a consistent close relationship with Trifecta and there engineers we have done NUMEROUS retunes I think 15-20 tunes and close to 30 datalogs getting me the most powerful tune I could get out of the stock K04 OEM turbo.

I have researched the Regal GS / Insignia OPC/VXR so much that I have spoken to people around the world from Russia, Poland, Greece, Istanbul, Germany, China, UK, Albania Etc..
Since the day I owned my GS ive always wanted to convert it to a Opel Insignia and make it something no one else has done to there car and so far no one has a clone to my car

My GS and my Brothers AWD TL

on
Started rebadging the whole car from door sills to rear badges to debadging the "Regal" logo on the trunk , at the moment the trunk is bare except for the "GS" logo but I will be buying a "OPC" badge to replace the GS

wanted the Euro style Plates on the car to keep that "Opel" appearance so I found a company in Germany who makes and uses Authentic German License Plates.. after ordering them and shipping over seas I installed them on my car with the Bracket.. issue was the front parking sensors would always go off because of the width of the plate so i took the bracket off and used 3M double sided tape its now been 2 years and that original tape that has seen snow, dirt, rain, wind, multiple car washes etc has been fallen off.. I had to bend the plate to curve like the bumper to avoid the parking sensor issue

next I saw Kranz with his Cree Reverse LED lights and I wanted them.. ive had cheaper reverse lights on my old Honda Accord but nothing beats CREE LED .. BTW my old Honda Accord was fully modded .. Pulley , CAI , Exhaust , Port and Polish Manifold and Runners (first Accord in the country to have it) , J-Pipe , upgraded brakes and tires , short shifter (6MT) so much more.. I ended up crashing into a tree making a turn to fast in the reservations on a rainy day

my accord port and polish parts

reverse lights werent nearly as bright as my Buick Reverse

Probably the one thing I regret selling and that I didnt put on my GS was my H&R springs , I bought them from a Ebay Vendor in the UK or Germany I forget and I ended up selling them for a profit because I decided not to sell them
for future Refrence

are the springs for the GS .. I am not responsible for anything you do to your car if something goes wrong

Samsung LED License plate bulbs.. at first I went thru 2 pairs but they light up so nice and look better than something on a mercedes IMO

of all the things I have done to my car the one thing I am the most proud of doing myself is my color stitched seats.. took a lot of time a very steady hand and my OCD perfection to get the job done but after a few days it came out perfect and goes with my BLUE theme.. throughout the car From the OPC badge to the Blue calipers to the blue stitching of the seats I wanted everything to match inside and out

and the finished product

to match the Interior/Exterior

the Calipers were done on a hot summer day , Went with the corvette ZR1 blue calipers the brembo sticker is just a adhesive decal has stayed on perfect but from using brake cleaner and a little scraping from when i changed my brake pads earlier I will repaint them again in the spring time same color

I wasnt a fan of the Piano Black Plastic panels thruought the car I wanted to go with a carbon fiber touch after contacting multiple shops I found one local to me (NY) who I shipped off my interior too and had them "DIP" the panels and coated them with a special coating so I could wax them just like I would with the exterior paint I LOVE my interior

Now that I got most of my Modding out of the way to make my car look nice

I was still always in touch with Trifecta , who after collaberating with became a Sponsor in some way for my car .. ZZP ZFR turbo, around the clock engineering when I had an issue or wanted something fixed , Intakes and downpipes ( although downpipe didn't fit the cr it was for the regular Turbo Regal.. but I got the main equipment I needed which was the ZFR turbo.. since my Buick is my daily driven car the "Project ZFR" was probably the most stressful time period personally and mentally .. didn't have my car for almost 2 months went thru a bunch of bumps in the road from a couple missing parts to backed up on other cars with the shop delaying my car since parts had to be shipped .. had Trifecta and Tune Time Performance in NJ on the phone working together to get this project done after cutting parts to make room and new transmission fluid and tedious nuts and bolts I did not have and thousand of dollars later the "Project ZFR" was FINISHED I remember Kranz saying whatever I think its going to cost double it .. and that statement could not have been any more true .. it was a little more than DOUBLE what I expected to pay but I have not had one issue since than thank God, Now that the ZFR is installed the potential is so great now I can make a monster of a car this summer i will be working on it since last summer was the Turbo Install, I will be raising my PSI installing my ZZP downpipe , possibly buying an intercool and other things , my goal is 330 WHP and that is realistically a number I can achieve without pushing the car to hard ... you agree Kyle? lol

OEM Next to the ZFR

my ZZP downpipe which HASNT been installed yet, I purchased it on black friday .. I was up until 3am waiting for ZZP to post a sale on the DP.. after nothing happening the following day at 630Pm I emailed them saying WTF all these parts for the SS cobalt and the 3800 nothing for my buick.. after that it went on sale for 30% off ... plus I had store credit with them from "project ZFR" I purchased it which it now sits in my dining room I will install it when the weather warms up following a new datalog to IPF tuning so I can finally get this car going the way it was intended to be

Recently I purchased the revised LED fog lights for the GS.. I had the first generation lights which were individual LED bulbs lighting up the fogs.. but after time a couple of the bulbs burnt out in the middle and I couldn't deal with it because i'm OCD it has to be perfect .. like Mercedes says "The Best Or Nothing" So I purchased the revised LED kit from China which arrived from china within 8 days .. very surprising how quick it arrived

and other than what I posted thats pretty much everything ive done to my GS.. I have Nokian Haka Tires with studs which are the best winter tires money buys.. were even used both times to beat the land speed record in the winter (Audi RS6 with Haka Studded Tires) you can watch the video here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdCj7o1E_14

I have installed 3 sets of brake pads in the past 4 months .. the first 2 were Hawk pads which DID NOT like my rotors causing squeaking and werent as good as the OEM pads so I returned them and bought the Brembo Pads which have less than 2 thousand miles on and I love .. they do cause brake dust but I work next to a high end car wash/detail center that my business is very friendly with so I always have a spotless car always have, from every car ive owned

MY SUMMER PLANS ARE TO SMOKE OUT THE REAR AND ADD LED LIGHTS INTO THE DOOR HANDLES AND PAINT THE ROOF BLACK
LOWER THE CAR , I WANT THE OPC INSIGNIA GRILL BUT ITS 400 DOLLARS , AND A FEW SECRETS

Shout out to Niz and Kranz because Kranz is the one who told me to make a build thread and Niz is in anticipation to see this thread done lol

I have more stuff to upload but ill upload it in the coming days as long as I get the main Build thread done

any questions feel free to ask like I said I have spoken to people around the world to get parts for the Regal FMSR is a very good company I have spoken to them about Sway bars and strut towers which due to the crazy snow in the Buffalo area has put everything on hold but will be back on track in march they've told me
Anything else your curious about feel free to ask and Enjoy the build thread

Looks Great Mayor! I really like the "fog" lights.

Your Regal GS looks great!! Love the fogs as well!! BTW if you want another quick mod, upgrade your horn to the Hella Supertones! It is VERY AMUSING!!! (I scared my wife with them! She says "That horn sounds obnoxious!!" hahaha! 😀

lots of work! love the new DRLs, but for $100, not really worth the upgrade right now, even though I do have a bulb out in them... grrr

Love the Diamond White GS' looks amazing with the ZR1 inspired calipers! .........that A*S tho!!! :headbang:

Yes looks really good and the seat stitching looks cool against the black leather. Did you ever think about installing the top Spoiler that's on the insignia?
its in my future build to do when I paint my roof black and smoke the tail lights the right way , I have the Irmscher spoiler saved in my ebay watch list

yeah its in LBI how can you tell? lol

Family rents a big house during the summer

once the spring comes my next mods will be as follows

Hi Mayor,
Spent summers down there as a kid and I still go down now with my kids. Great place!
The lights on the doors handles are cool, though mirror lights really show the door dings in the pics. Where can they be found?

Car looks good. When's the ZFR going on? I was going to say that looked like LBI as well. I've spent every summer there since I was a kid.

Turbos been on since July 2014
The Downpipe from ZZP is on .. but it's.cold as balls

Do the LED strips actually serve as a function fog/driving/critter light, or is it mostly an appearance piece? I have to say that is one of my leading "What were they thinking" pieces to have true driving lights on non-GS models and then remove them for the sport/performance version.
