Please feel to post here any mechanical problems you've had with your Regal.

KingBuick.

The list continues to grow, this is a new car right?!?!?!?!? Non turbo

Cruise control ont working, no brake lights, antilock brakes and traction control inop, rough idle and the latest a check engine light. This is not to mention my complaints about laggy engine performance and funky trans shifting.

This is the forth time its going to the shop since Nov 2010

Oh yeah I forgot to ,ention that Buick customer service and the dealer say the car is fine and fineds nothing out of the ordinary, huh?

@stang

If you live in the United States you have a few options. Check your states "lemon laws'. If you feel like your situation meets your states requirements then get a lawyer and try to get a new car or a refund.

Your second option is to stick it out and never buy/lease a vehicle made by GM again.

Part of the reason I leased my Regal was because it seemed to good to be true. I knew it was too nice of a package to be true. My RL5 had a residual value of $17,500 (according the GMAC) when I signed my lease last May (39,000, 39 month). I find it hard to believe that a $29,980 Buick will be worth $17,500 when it is 39 months old with 39,000 miles. Since I couldn't compare the number with previous Regals then I used the Lucerne as a benchmark. I was able to find 3 year old Lucerne's going for $11,500 to $13,000 consistently that were priced around $30,000 when new.

Yeah its a marketing game, the early incentives will get alot of these regals on the road for the much needed image change. As far as the pricing, they needed to drive the residual up inorder to make for an affordable lease payment. I leased the same term as you so I know I'll have this for a bit.
BTW, the engine light turned off today and the engine lidle smoothed out. Pretty smart car, it can fix itself. lol.

It goes to the dealer on Tuesday to see whats going on.

Sorry the car is giving you grief. I hope the dealer can find out what's wrong.

Yeah thanks, my guess is they'll just reset the code since the car is currently running pretty good. I'm going to inquire again if any upgrades to the the computer is available yet to help boost performamce and trans shifting

Leased ours as well - could not have leased a better car for the money 😎

Just heard from the dealer on the engine light problem, looks like they need to replace the injectors. They had to order the parts, so tomorrow it should be done.

Still cant believe the problems on this new car, unbelieveable.

Hopefully the last of the problems for awhile. At least it is under warranty.

No kidding about the warranty. You know I really like driving the car I just need this thing to stay out of the shop.

I would be interested in finding out why they need to replace the fuel injectors. This is either a isolated incident or we might all experience this at some point if they are actually faulty/cheap injectors.

I do not have very much knowledge or experience working on engines, but to my knowledge the fuel injectors do not ever fail unless something has been put in the gas or gas tank that will clog the fuel injectors or they literally break because they are poorly made.

Well, just pick up the regal from the dealer. They replaced all the injectors and had to clean out the intake manifold? They said it had tons of carbon built up inside it.

I never made it home tonight before the car started running poorly again and low and behold the engine light came back on. OMG!!!

Called GM customer service again filled my third complaint then promptly call the dealer in order to get it back into the shop.

I'm sure more to come.

I just had my first run in with the transmission. I am not sure if this is the same as the "hard shifting" issues others have been posting, but, as I was coming to a stop sign it was as if the car did not want to downshift. this was an in-town drive at about twenty MPH max. (luckily). By the time I stopped I was into the intersection. The engine was reving, almost like an old "powerbrake" but I wasn't on the gas at all. Very scary!

Knock on wood - 9,000 miles and so far have not had one issue that is not normal operation. The car had not even been back to the dealer, as the oil sensor tells me that I am still at 40+ % oil life. Had the tires rotated at a tire store, other than that literally nothing to fix. Good luck with your multiple issues.

BL86 - my father had this years ago on a 1986 Cadillac, GM replaced the injectors a couple of times under warranty, and basically told him to avoid a certain brand of filling station that in our area was causing them all kinds of problems. He switched stations, and still has the car and it is running OK. If different gas does NOT solve the problem keep very good documentation as you may be getting close to a lemon law claim, depending on what state you live in. Good luck with getting your issues resolved.

I’m very sorry to hear about what happened with your Regal. Was this the first time you experienced this sort of concern?

Thanks,

Daryll, glad to hear you have no problems! I really enjoy the car and hope I can get passed this. I hear what you're saying about the gas, I asked the very same question to the dealer. On the last visit when the injectors were replaced, the dealer put some sort of fuel additive into the tank.
I saw a recent local news cast about the top three fuel/oil companies, this was specific to the highest amount of detergents added to the fuel. You can bet that I'll stick with these top three.

Customer service,
I've been working with Buick customer service on the last three visits to the dealer, everyone is all over this issue, including
the dealer, customer service and myself. We all want it fixed

Thanks for the update! I did see that you said that you were working with customer assistance, so I’m glad to see that things are progressing. Let me know if you need anything else!

Thanks Laura for your concern, yes this was the first time I have had an issue with the transmission. I have had the car just over a month and have about 700 miles on it. The real concern is that I was into the intersection before I could stop the car. Had there been a car in front of me or in the intersection, I would be posting about my first accident instead of my first issue with the tranny.

Update
Dealer replaced the injectors with the wrong ones, they had to reorder the parts.

Picked up the car after the right parts were installed, OMG what a difference, this thing runs great! I think they finally fixed it.
