I believe the low pressure indicator lights at 26psi

I *think* it may be 22 psi. I was at 26 yesterday with my leaking rear tire and didn't get a warning.

Dead blow hammer comes in handy when a wheel corrodes/rusts to the hub and needs a little authority to break it loose.

Dead blow hammers are typically used when need to give something a good whack but you don't want to damage what you're hitting. You can get behind the stuck wheel and hit the inner edge of the rim (if need be) to apply concentrated force outward with little rebound from the hammer.

A coat of anti-seize @ contact points between the rotor & wheel (& around the center bore where it fits over the hub) can help prevent the need of a hammer.

...Can anyone say if a LOW TIRE PRESSURE warning pops up on dash screen in case of a flat ?

Yes. When we first got our 2019 TourX, hit a pothole and tire pressure monitor told me immediately which tire was losing pressure (fast)

Update!
Well, I had a huge blowout of my front passenger tire today. Hit a manhole cover that was sitting proud a road under repair. 😡💩



So, in the interest of making the most of today's sweaty experience, I can answer some of the questions

First, the spare fits quite nicely, and I was able to drive back home about 40 minutes mostly highway. Hitting speeds around 60-70mph. Remember this is a new T125/70R17 I got from a 2020 Chevy Equinox at a junk yard.



Second, I was a bit concerned that the front brake caliper might scrape on the spare wheel -- I saw some posts that suggested this might be the case. But no, there were no clearance issues at all. It's close (see photo), but no issues.


Third, despite the tiny donut, I didn't notice much of a ride and handling difference. I inched up to the higher speeds and had about 40 minutes of highway, city, and suburban roads. I really couldn't tell any difference at all. No drift.

Anyway, just reporting back. Hope this helps.

T135 90R17 at 26.6" diameter ...will not fit in the well

165/80R17 has a diameter of 27.6" ...will not fit in the rear floor well but gives me peace of mind when on long road trips

Vs. hauling a 'spare' that won't fit down in the well, why not just carry a full size replacement & not have to mess with a donut at all?

if I'm heading out to the middle of nowhere in Utah, I toss one of my snow tires in as a full size spare

Big enough "trunk" to have a full size for long journeys

...just make sure it's secured back there, don't want to catch it in the back of yer head on a quick stop 😖

Yeah, the whole full size vs. donut spare is a separate discussion, for sure.

My overall intention was to help people that wanted a donut -- to be able to find the right size and do it cheaply in a step-by-step post.

There continues to be some questions/resistance about just using the abundantly available T125/70R17 donut tire. It fits in the well with space for a jack and junk, it's pretty cheap, and now I 100% know it works on the front. If you want a donut, find and use this size from an old Equinox or Terrain. Don't mess with other sizes and models...😎
