Every now and again my '18 TourX white needle will beep the horn three short times when I get INTO the car and close the door. It's not a problem except at 5:30 in the a.m. for my neighbors when I'm headed off to work. Any clues as to what is going on?

I believe you are activating the vehicle locator function as you get into your car.

Probably as you bend to get into car something on your keychain is pressing against the panic button in your pocket.Screenshot_20210423-161506~2.webp

I had the same problem--if you leave the car running & have the fob with you, when you return & open the door the horn gives you 3 toots. Checked with the dealer to see if there was any way to alter the horn operation--nope. So I pulled the horn fuse out until I got the info I needed to re-wired the horn circuit bypassing the BCM.

I have this happen every time I check the mail (mail key on same key ring as car keys). I just live with it and annoy my neighbors.

Another possibility depending on your symptom. As per a previous post in another thread:
The horn sounding upon entry to the vehicle has happened to me a few times as well. I believe it happens under these conditions:

Entry into the vehicle on the passenger side and enabling Accessory Mode, say to listen to the radio. Manually disabling accessory mode or allowing it to automatically time-out, then exiting the vehicle from the passenger side again. Later on, after entry to the vehicle on the driver's side and upon closing the door, the horn will sound. It will happen this way every time in my case.

Now, if I just open and close the drivers door AFTER exiting from the passenger side, the horn will not sound when entering the vehicle later on.

I believe the car thinks you left the keys inside because it did not detect the driver's door open and close after the car's accessory mode was turned off.

Mine happens if I leave the vehicle sometimes it thinks I've left my cars inside. If I leave the car in neutral with handbrake on and leave my door open it never beeps

Thanks for all the replies. I might just be having another key in my pocket pushing the locator button or possibly the passenger side entry and exit prior to using driver's door. Will keep keys in separate pockets and run a manual test on the doors opening and closing.

I have the same issue , only it happens when I get out of my car and don’t close the driver door all the way. When i get back in, it beeps

This happens to me both getting into and out of my car. Very annoying.

It's a defect of some sort. It's not caused by something in my pocket pressing against the remote buttons.
