I'm having the familiar problem with my radio/nav/clock in my 2011 Lacrosse, where everything reverts back to a previous state whenever I turn the car off/on. I set the clock time, it reverts back. I add a new address to my Nav address book, it disappears. Lots of prompts with the Nav system, etc.

I first had this problem in November 2012, and had the dealer install a software update, which fixed this and a whole lot of other issues. I was a happy man. Unfortunately, last week (April 2013) the problem is back again.

The frustrating part of this is that I took it to my friendly dealer again today, and they said the software version in my Lacrosse is the current version, they can't re-install it again, and they said I could buy a new radio for $1900 if I wanted to fix it!

I may just try to find out what software version I have now, work with my dealer to find out when a new software version gets released, then pay to have it installed. (I'm at 149,000 miles -- second set of tires, original brakes!!!) If anybody has any other suggestions, I'd love to hear them. I'd be happy to be an alpha tester for a new patch release of the software!

149k! So you haven't stop driving it since the day you bought it? 🙂

What tires did you go with, if not the Goodyear's, how do they compare?

For tires, I stuck with the OEM Michelin Pilot HX MXM4s. I got about 130k miles out of the original set. (I don't brake a lot.) They're quiet, obviously long tread life. I must admit, they're not the best in snow or rain. I've seen a slight hydroplaning on occasion at freeway speeds in heavy rain; I've learned to back it down a bit to be safe. I also almost got stuck in the snow in a friend's driveway this winter, in heavy wet fresh snow over a packed snow base.

Hello Kunzorama,

I am sorry to hear that this issue has come back! I would like to assist and explore some options for you with the dealership. Would you mind sending me a private message with your VIN#, full name, and the name of the dealership you visited?

Doesn't the CXS mean that the car has the 19" wheels? I assumed you started out with the Goodyear Eagle RS-A's- no?

No, in 2011 I had the option of going with either the 18s or the 19s on the CXS. I thought the 18s might have a little more sidewall, allowing me a little more cushion to deal with Michigan's potholes. As a result, the Michelins came as OE tires.

The software update didn't work in mine I had to have the radio repalced
