Has anyone tried to lose a couple hundred pounds on the regal?

Figured it'd be worth it to check and see if we can make the cars quicker and get better gas mileage.

I know on the GTO and G8, people have been able to get that from a few brackets, lighter battery, different shocks, etc. but those guys are complete pigs.

Is the 3600lbs as low as we get? Has anyone looked into this?
Looking for ideas
Thanks
Jim

I cant really fathom tearing apart our beautiful interior to attempt to save a hundred pounds if that. That .10 or .20 you might shave off of your quarter mile time and the hours you spend removing and re-installing your parts seems to be a waste. IMO spend it on some good control arms or something that gets you to hook (zzp just emailed me stating they want my car back on monday to develop some).

Trust me, these cars seriously blow from a dig, and even from a 40-50 roll with mods i am more geared towards putting the power down efficiently... Then worry about the weight.

I was actually thinking of shedding the weight to try to gain some gas mileage.

i'm not tracking this guy anytime soon. that's what the 68 cutlass is for.

I often wonder where all the weight is. 4Cylinder drive train cant be that heavy! The car must be made of cast iron!. My thought was weight distribution for balance like BMW's, but FWD is hard to balance fromt to rear.

Regal weight reduction is going to come in the form of the Alpha platform.

Holy $hit, Traction problems at 50 mph.. 😱

I'll take the extra weight when it means I can have a real spare tire like the Regal has instead of a can of fix- a- flat like most cars have these days or bone shaking run flat tires. I'll take the extra weight of Biuck's Quiet Tuning also.

You know the GS dosen't come with a spare right...

I test drove this car, ir was fun, but no replacement for the GS.

I also test drove it. It sure was fun, but damn those ergonomics were just plain awkward. Best sounding 4 cyl. on the road.

I know right! I told the sales person that the engine should be put in every small car.

When you've done the horsepower stuff to make it quicker, without making any sacrifices to a very nice car like 15 lbs Braile batteries and 18 lbs fixed mounted seat you can't wrong with a light weight set of wheels. In both my 2005 CTS-V and GTO I lost about 10 lbs per corner.

That Multi Air 1.4T was in the 2013 Darts. Epic fail !!! The worst calibration i have ever seen. I traded mine in for my Regal ,I only owned it for 5 months.
We had 2 Darts at work, Dyno test mules. Dodge engineers here almost everyday trying to fix what we called ( Dead Pedal ) I think they gave up...lol... That engine was dropped for all 2014 Darts, except the Eco Dart, They did get great fuel economy. Just ran like $hit.
The salt in the wound was the locked ECU, no tune 😡

I was actually thinking about which wheel/tire combo might work best. Any thoughts? Also, are the "low resistance" tires on the GM eco cars a good way to improve gas mileage, or will they make driving in the rain a nightmare?

I've got a trifecta tune and intake, but this is my daily driver so I don't want to affect drivability too much.
Was just thinking about possible ways to drop some weight in lieu of losing it myself; not a big fan of new years resolutions
