Its an LT1, 91-93 RMs used LO5s (except the 91 wagons they had an LO3) and 94-96 had LT1s. the easiest way to tell is open the hood if the air cleaner is on the top of the engine its an LO5/LO3, and if it has a big triangle and the air box is ove near the left headlight its an LT1. if the air cleaner has been removed and the throttle body is up in the front its an LT1 but if there is a throttle body that looks like a carburator w/ two injectors on it thats an LO5/LO3

Hi, sorry, newbie here! Bolting up the air pump hole in the manifold in a '94? Woudl this be with an LO5 engine or an LT1?
I ask ebcuase I have a 1993 Fleetwood with an LT1 that is running badly. I took the air pump off and it was stiff as anything inside. Then a whole load of rust fell out and I found out it was totally corroded solid. Would this be a cause of bad running?
If you take the air pump out of the circuit what else do you have to do?

you don't have an LT1 in a 93 fleetwood.

94-96 B and D cars only had the LT1. remove the stupid air pump and call it a day. No need to really do anything else unless you want to have it programmed out. on a 94-95 it won't set a CEL unplugging it.

Sorry, my mistake. It's the 93 with the LO5 that is running badly and that I've just bought the new AIR pump for. I've a 94 and a 93 Fleetwood so I know the difference between the 2 engines. My question was that I was wondering what they used in the 94 Roadmasters - was it exclusively LT1s or not. I guess so!
My question was what if I unplug the AIR pump on the LO5? Where does it take the exhaust gas from? Do I have to bung anything up if I take it out? when I did this on my '79 Cad with a 425 I had to plug the passageways in the head.
With the rusted soild AIR pump in the circuit when the engine is running at idle I get a noise like a tractor if the air cleaner lid is tight dowen and if I press down on it. If I slacken off the screw or even take it off the noise goes away and the engine runs smmoth and quiet at idle.
