Thank you, I am having a difficult time determining which fuse is connected to the side impact warning alert. If you could help me locate it that would be ever so helpful. Thank you again. 2014 Buick VeranoI'm unaware of any simple fix, but you may want to check the fuse, sensors for any type of blocked on the outside, that the cable harness and connections are clean and no cracks. The module may have gone bad, but it with all the other components may not have any owner test that can be done.
You are going to have to be more specific. What if your car does not have a side detection module and has the same issues?
I just had this same problem. I disconnected the side sensor and water dripped out of it. Now everything works again! I don’t need side impact warning. I’ll save the cash and drive without it.Service side impact detection system. Has anyone gotten this message and if so is there a non service fix like a fuse perhaps. Mine is a 2014 verano turbo. Thank u
Where do I look on the outsideI'm unaware of any simple fix, but you may want to check the fuse, sensors for any type of blocked on the outside, that the cable harness and connections are clean and no cracks. The module may have gone bad, but it with all the other components may not have any owner test that can be done.
Disconnecting the module probably won't get rid of the message since the module probably speaks to the Body Control Module. Have the system scanned to determine the cause of the message.I now have this Service side impact detection system on my 2015 Verano and removed fuse #25 as mentioned above but
message still comes on. I see the drawing showing where the side impact module is, is it easy to get too without removing anything?
Do you have to disconnect the module along with pulling the fuse to get rid of the message?
Thanks for the help
You had it scanned where, an auto parts store? If so their scanners did not have the ability to check the air bag system.OK Thanks, I had it scanned last week because a check engine light popped up. Scan came up with P0013
exhaust camshaft position actuator solenoid valve control circuit. Unrelated to the service side detection message.
Nothing showed up on the scan for this.
No... a friend who has a proper scannerYou had it scanned where, an auto parts store? If so their scanners did not have the ability to check the air bag system.
Thank You so much. is it possible to get to modules without removing he bumper cover? If the Left module has failed it will not be recognized by the scanner as its not "powered up" and/or can cause that section of the canbus to drop out with out setting a lost communication code. The system is anchored by the left module and interprets the data from the right side. Best thing to do is visually look at the modules and see if one or both are swollen. Often times the electrical connectors are full of blue corrosion too. The bumper cover comes off easily enough with a screwdriver, trim tool, and some small sockets to inspect and repair. Used modules will need programmed at a dealer after.
