- 2018 TourX Essence
Well this forum has been kind of boring lately. Other than this:
Anyone Interested in a Zombie Apocalypse Ready TourX?
With a little more work, it could be Batman’s mom’s car.
I guess no news is good news, I have not seen posts on major mechanical failures or other horror stories, Just a bunch of trial stuff.
It is inevitable that I will be doing something to up the power put to the ground with my TourX. I can’t leave almost well enough alone Not that the Tour X is slow, If fact it is sort of swift, but sure is not exciting, never mind scary fast.
Reading this just gets me all excited and tingly
V60 Polestar
Given the TourX is a Buick and the transmission’s torque capacity is 480 N-m ( 354 lbs-ft) and the LTG’s cast pistons have been known to shatter ring lands under high boost, there is a limit to power adders.
I figure close to 300 wheel BHP and 350 lbs-ft on 93 Octane just might make the TourX a 14 Second flat / 100mph trap speed ¼ miler, while not breaking either itself or my finances.
Simple upgrade plan is:
BorgWarner/BorgWarner-EFR-6758-G
Here Are some links I found regarding getting into the internals of the LTG 2.0L motor.
At some point when it is time to replace, I will go to higher performance tires, Grippier Pads , Stainless brake lines, & and high boil point fluid.
Maybe shock, if there is real gains to be had.
That’s the Plan,
Comments and suggestions welcome?

Simple upgrade plan is:
- A tune, leaning toward Trifecta.
- A catted downpipe.
