Special Coverage warranty on Encore

I did, and it has the special coverage listed but not describing what it is. I had to look it up and that's how I found this forum 😁 However, if the GM dealerships are anything like Ford and Dodge, I'll need an actual piece of paper to shove in the service center's face showing the special coverage from GM. Maybe I should get a hold of GM and see if I can get the details of the special coverage in writing.... I'm afraid if I show them what's on MyBuick app they would still charge me for the repairs.

Did you take the time to look the numbers up? Google is your friend.

N202299080 — Camshaft Cover Replacement
14567 - Rear Seat Belt Buckle Damage

If you need a print out, call Buick customer service. I bet they will send you what you need.

Yeah I'll try to call them. I just had a not so helpful online chat with GM Customer Service. They refused to send me a letter and kept telling me I need to have my vehicle diagnosed first. I have Googled it, again that's how I found this forum. But like the GM Customer Service said, they will not listen, use, etc. any online forums for proof. So hopefully I get somewhere with the phone call. I explained that people received letters from GM for this special coverage back in August 2020, according to pictures on the Cruz forum. I didn't own my vehicle when these letters were sent out. But apparently if I didn't own my vehicle at that time I can't get a letter lol

I'm sure the dealership isn't going to do a thing until the check engine light comes on and then they will deny my special coverage even if I mention it. Then if I try to take it up with GM Customer Service I probably won't get a reimbursement form... doesn't matter what car maker you go with, it's the same song and dance it seems lol

There really isn't anything you can do until it happens. But if you want to fret and agonize over it, that's going to be worse for you than any repair bill. Call a small local shop to see what the cost of repair is. Maybe have it changed out as preventive maintenance.

So Let's try to get an idea if they improved the PCV valve In 2017 and newer cars, has anyone with the 2017 or newEr encore with the LUV motor Had this PCV valve fail? Who has the Most miles on there 2017 or newer luv motor?

Good question. "Extreme Revolution" on the below thread at the Cruze forum, who is the apparent expert on the pcv failure issues on the 1.4 Encore and Cruze engines, has more than once stated that GM has not yet changed or improved the parts that fail on this engine. It should be noted he also makes and sells the pcv fix kits that are the supposed cure for these failures.

That said, Dorman does make a replacement intake manifold that is different from the OEM manifold and has an improved part that supposedly prevents the pcv valve on the intake manifold from falling off, but Extreme Revolution says it doesn't fix the problem. Yet, even though the current OEM replacement valve covers and intake manifolds look exactly the same as they did in the past, it doesn't necessarily mean that the rubber valves are not made from better materials than in the past.

I suggest you look at the thread linked below. And notice that the posts have become less and less as time goes on, which may indicate that the newer Encores and Cruzes are experiencing fewer failures than the older models. Then again, perhaps the newer Encores just haven't been on the road long enough to fail.

In any case, maybe both newer and older Encore will weigh in about these questionable points of failure. By the way, 15,000 on my 2019 Encore with zero problems so far.

Yes, i bought his kit,, but havent installed it yet... if we find that the new design is bullet proof then i wont bother putting it on.. ofcourse he will say they never inproved it... he wants to keep selling those kits that he probably makes 200% profit on.. I read enough of his posts to know He is honest guy but nobody has figured this out yet And we should.. There has to be someone With a 2017That has over hundred thousand miles by now

I haven't heard anything about the 120,000/10 year coverage, but it would be nice to have. It would be a little late for many Encore owners, but better late than never, as they say. Do you have a link to where you heard about it?

My buick encore is in the shop again. I put a catalystic converter on in 2020 now there telling me its bad again and not covered under the warranty. I have 92000 miles on it. I pulled this up on the net and it should be covered. They told me it was 1200.00 to replace it but buick would pay half.

8 years or 80k miles so at 92k miles not covered
The 15 year 150k miles is for PZEV vehicles.
This is correct. 8 years or 80k miles.

lori wyble, If Buick is paying half take it and run. I've gotten GM to pay for a couple of things over the years that were only a couple of thousand miles out of warranty, but 12k mile out? They are offering you a nice gift. And I'm thinking the dealer went to bat for you.

The TSB you posted is just that. A technical service bulletin. It helps GM technicians diagnose and fix known issues. It is not a warranty or warranty extension, and if you read the bottom it specifically states how to handle in warranty and out of warranty situations.

2017 Encore here already had the valve cover fail, 73000 miles, now I just had the ignition coil burnout and the Turbo may have went out. Low oil pressure warning on the highway.
