Stop/Start ability to turn feature off

I have a '21 Envision and had to have the battery replaced before the 3 year mark. I received an email from GM in January 31st titled" Advanced Diagnostics: This is a Proactive Alert for Your Buick Envision." It went on to state the car detected a battery, starter or connection issue and to bring it to our dealer asap. (Service Code SAC 005) . We brought it in and the battery was replaced at no cost as the car is still under warranty- luckily. I feel this is the direct result of the Auto Stop/Start feature. There is a on/off button on my model year and now I turn it off after starting the car. I don't feel the "upgraded" battery can handle the extra cycles. As a side note before I received this email we experienced some strange things with the car lighting about 3 months prior to this email. Everytime the car stop/start feature engaged, as soon as you put your foot on the gas, the rear interior lights would go on. Once the sunroof would not close. In hindsight these were signs of the battery slowly degrading.

In the previous car I wrote about earlier, dealer replaced the factory AGM battery twice under warranty, then I had to buy a 4th after warranty expired. This all in 6 years of ownership. I got rid of that Acura mess of a car.

I have a 2016 envision and the stop feature works but the auto start feature doesn't work! this piece of junk has been to the dealer 6 times now and they say they won't fix it unless it happens to them on a service test drive. It is very dangerous to be stalled out at a traffic light that has turned green! This car has only 8,000 miles. We are the original owners, Our Buick sales dept. offered us 1/2 of the purchase price on a trade. (WHAT A KICK TO THE NUTS) Do yourself a favor and don't buy one of these Buicks! I have been a G.M. customer for 30 plus years, this 2016 Buick Envision and G.M. lack of support (they don't give a dam if anybody is hurt or killed) will be the last dollar I ever spend on G.M. They lost me forever! And I will share this story EVERY chance I get! What a lousy vehicle/manufacturer!
This is exactly why I'll never trade in my 2001 Park Avenue . The Buicks made in USA were some of the best built cars . Hopefully they will get everything fixed soon 🙏

I found this by accident. Unplugged it and no more start/stop. 2020 envision. (I always forget to hit the shutoff button on the dash) It's startling when the engine turns off - my wife and I don't like it!

You unplugged WHAT??

It ended up throwing a code, after 4 days. u01b0.
indicates a communication fault with the battery current sensor or a related module. (I'm on my phone and cannot find the other guys original post. It is a plug on the negative side of the battery, near the windshield wiper fluid fill neck)

I've seen devices being sold to disable the stop/start, and you can do a Google search and find them, but proceed with caution. Cars today are SO complex that I would be leery about adding stuff (the device) to the electrical system. A no-no if a car is still under warranty, but yours likely is not. Try the search.
