Suggestions for remote fob?

dgp,
The cover did reduce the unwanted horn activations, but didn't eliminate them. I've taken to leaving the fob in the house when working in the yard or garage, but this is sometimes a PIA when I want to open the hatch and have to go fetch the fob. I haven't disabled the button yet, but I may still do it.

Only use keyfob if using remote start, and that has not been very often.
I may switch to Caddy key holder for ATS that I traded on TourX, if I get more pocket honks.20190520_155111.webp

One Dumb Fob Design.

I love My GS,, but I cant put the Remote in my Pocket , and bend over or even sit sometimes without activating The Panic Mode Button...Just a Plain Stupid design.

I wear mine on a carabiner (got to carry another giant ring of keys for my job) so its not a concern for me.

My wife on the other hand keeps the spare fob in her purse and sets off my panic alarm at least once a week.

It's pretty terrible. I have to carry my fob by itself and keep the buttons facing towards my body when it's in my pocket. If it faces outward, I bump into counters, the dinner table, or my desk and set off the alarm.

Still have't found a case that I like enough to prevent this issue.

I can't add anything but agree it is a terrible design. My former car did not have a panic button and it was great. I trigger this one accidentally at least a couple times a month just by shoving it in my pocket in the morning.

After ten months, still never happened. No problems image.jpg

I cannot say which fob design the regular Sportback has, but as far as the GS fob goes, the panic button is much larger and easier to press than the TourX variant. I am contemplating disabling the button altogether... but then I would need it 😒

Im still trying to figure out why we didn't get some kind of liftgate assist or at the very least a button to unlatch without pressing the emblem on the lid.

That is an odd thing to leave out, especially since it's an electronic release. The same for non-Essence trim TourX's as well. I'm sure everyone not in an Essence TourX would appreciate an interior trunk button too. What, did they save like $1.89 by omitting that?

I can never find the lock button when my keys/remotes are in my pocket, but it never fails to always hit the panic button while working on/in the car. I've been working on my stereo and have hit the button too many times to count(I pull the keys out of my pocket now), and I was inspecting a front tire recently and of course set off the alarm.😳

I wonder if it would be possible to fit the kick sensor from a TourX to a Sportback to act as the hatch release at a minimum.

My Sportback Essence has a fob exactly like Jack GS posted.

If I had the problem, i would do what I did with my home window a/c clicker. I taped over the buttons that I don’t use with a piece of cardboard. Never hit the wrong button there either.

GM can save a Bunch of Money. Don't redesign the Regal in 2021. REDESIGN THE REMOTE!! The Car is fine.

...and add remote windows and roof control, open and close - the 2016 F@*d I had for 3 years had that - very useful
