TourX sales figures in the US?

Holden was selling well in New Zealand unlike Australia.

The ZB Commodore was the top selling model in it's class and all other Holden models had good market penetration.

The Colorado ute was number three behind the Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux.

The Equinox was new into the market and was developing a good following as was the Acadia.

The New Zealand market is miniscule. No matter how good the sales were here they were never going to save the brand unfortunately.
Now that I can soon afford it (paying cash) I will be shopping for a used Chevy SS (Holden commodore) with a stick. I regret that they never imported a wagon to the states.

Opel involvement in the US market has been unusual at best with the Buick Opel 60-70s, Cadillac Catera and Buick Regal -TourX coming and going with little fanfare when they were discontinued. Doubtful the last of any of these Opel's would bring anything at auction.

As with Holden and US market, this last gasp of Opel products seem they were more a stopgap decision long before the closing of Holden and the sale of Opel. Had sales taken off GM would have been in a real world of hurt, so maybe it was part of the long term goal.

But there's probably a petrol head down under already trying to figure out how to get a V8 LS into a TourX, thank God.

I’ll keep on eye open for you. I spend a lot of time up
I just bought a black 2018 in OH and will now be plying the roads of MA, NH, VT and ME!
Om from NW NJ though I (we) spend lots of time in Southern NH and the Maine area. I’m originally from Atkinson NH.

It's been done but not in a road going version.

Have seen a few of the V8 races from the AU and at least some of the factory body styles were close to stock. In the US it's NASCAR but go into the Toyota dealership and try to buy the RWD, 725 horsepower V8 two door Camry or any other vehicles making left hand turns all day.

Unlike Holden, Buick would go into the performance / youth market for awhile then flatline and try again with a repeat as needed marketing group of too little too late. Which is another reason for the Regal and TourX sales figures, vehicle that the gray hairs wouldn't buy and a youth market that really never fully developed.

For the Holden folks it was more like going from a sirloin steak to a can of SPAM, not picking on your vehicle, but you guys got spoiled by Holden and we have the Holden exports to prove it lol.

Perhaps we were spoilt. We just didn't realise it. Those sorts of cars were just what was expected by a Holden owner. There was a lot of untapped potential with the Aussie Commodore that GM appeared to have wasted. The top of the line V8 Commodores had basically the Corvette engine in a 4 door sedan body. They were a weapon.

They were also developing twin turbo V6 for racing and if that had got to be used in racing I think there was a better than even chance there'd have been a road going version as well. Now that would have been some car.

Brand loyalty may have helped for the Holden sales on the Opel platform, but even that cannot replace these type of vehicles that they came out with before. Can't really say if any Sandman SS-V wagons have gotten privately imported into the USA but if someone wanted the ultimate badazz wagon this is it.

Unfortunately, now Corvette engines are mid-engines so in the US it’s the Cadillac brand that we have to look to for that hot sedan. Of course Cadillac announced they will be going all-electric to be with the times and compete with Tesla. So my next new car appears to be a Lyriq. Now if GM would just hurry up and make an electric pickup or Suburban to compete with the Ford F-150 lightning, then I could just buy one vehicle to do my towing as well as be the fuel economy miser. I’m not sure I want to spend $80-100k on a new EV hummer SUV. I’ve spent a lifetime being a cheapskate, only spending $23k on any new car (yes I got a brand new volt for and new CTS for $23k each) until the TourX purchase.

Nice brood shoulders and so-on, but the rear-end seems different - older version of what became the TourX?

That is a 2015 Holden wagon from Australia, the TourX Opel was from Germany. The only thing in common between the two is that they were both owned by GM and wagons, plus nobody surfs in Germany lol
