TourX / Sportback battery removal

I had mine replaced under warranty. It was right at the end of the bumper-to-bumper coverage.

Replaced mine 2x under warranty.

Then it was determined a malfunctioning sensor on the battery was killing the previous batteries prematurely. (OnStar's monthly diagnostics report was indicating my 3rd battery was low).

What sensor was it? I just put on a new AGM battery from Costco and it's showing 11ish volts when the car isn't on. Car going into battery saver mode right away when it wasn't doing that with the old gm battery

If you're testing a new battery at the terminals and it's reading only 11(ish)V, I'd be concerned that the battery is bad. Give it a good charge and retest.

With my 3rd battery...my ASS was working fine. But even after a long ride, my DIC indicated she still wanted even more juice. Everywhere I drove no matter how long, I was charging 14.5 + volts all the time.

Turns out the battery monitor module (13526053) was bad. It was telling the car to keep charging the battery at a high rate even though it didn't need it. The constant overcharging was prematurely killing the batteries. Because it was caught early (9/21), my third battery was considered healthy and is still working today.

This is very helpful. Thank you!! The new interstate battery from Costco reads 12.5V at the terminals with a multimeter

I might be there now. Mine has started to charge at constant 14V +/- where it used to be around 12.5-13V with occasional time at 14 V then it would drop back. I have the GS cluster and I have that V gauge displayed all the time so I noticed it right away. That's pretty much a sign battery is headed south from what I've read here.
Brand new battery. I’m usually charging at 14 V. Is there some other issue I should be aware of?

From where is that reading, and under what conditions?

If that's from the Driver Information Center (DIC) on the vehicle after driving for a bit, I think the DIC shows the charging voltage at which the vehicle has decided to charge at that moment - and I think you're OK for now
