Buick Ownership
2002 Buick Lesabre limited
In my 2000 Buick lesabre after the transmission is warmed up it shifts hard in all gears. This just started yesterday.
Previously i had shuttering issues that wet away after changing mounts. It has 104000 miles on it. Course of action?

Which mounts did you replace? The Trans mounts, or motor mounts?

I replaced all 4 of the mounts , 3 of the 4 were bad , I replaced all 4 wheel hub assemblies, front control arms , all 4 rotors , inner and outer tie rod ends , struts and conversion shocks ,and calipers and tires all in March or April of this year . The vehicle was in a weird wreck , my niece back in Colo hit one of those thick metal square no parking type signs and the car suffered extreme whip lash so much so that the drivers door skin popped off but no all the way and severely damaged 2 large sections of the under carriage / / unibody and another small section so who knows what all damage occurred. Not to mention the bumper etc… sorry for the long answer .

keep those wheel hubs. unless truly worn out the original hubs are good for a lot more miles than any replacement you can buy new. Those control arms too, new bushings and a new ball joint can be installed onto the old ones and the aluminum is a LOT higher quality than the sad cast replacements which get fuzzy from corrosion.

did the battery trick work? my 2004 century is doing the same thing, shifts hard after trans warms up, but if i turn vehicle off then on it shifts smooth again. this only started happening after i replaced battery and a friend suggested i put those battery terminal insulators on, but it is probably causing an insecure connection for the terminals being that there is a gap being placed in between, the cables come loose easily and they didnt before to my knowledge.
