TSB 19-NA-100 Radio Software Version 22.8 and TSB 19-NA-249 Favorites Grayed Out- Nov 4, 2019

I was quoted about $186 from the dealer to take care of the grayed-out radio favorites TSB. Since I only use a few different stations, I didn't have them do it. As a side note, Mazda did a TSB repair for free on my 2013 Mazda 3.

I'm attempting to update our '18 TourX Essence to 21.11 (or .10), using a FAT32-formatted USB drive. I've extracted the update files into the root directory of the USB, but am getting the error message "Vehicle update download failed." upon insert of the USB. Have tried with both x.11 and x.10 with the same result.

FWIW, I've done similar updates on my other vehicles, so I'm not new to the process, but could also be missing something obvious.

I didn't see this anywhere in this whole thread, but it seems the car must either be running, or have the ignition "ON" (not running, not in ACC) for the update process to start. I do have a battery jump-pack connected (not plugged in).

Don't know if it matters, but we have never activated OnStar on this vehicle (since new).

Any suggestions?
Car have to be in "service mode" - press start button for 10s without applying brake.
You can also try with different USB drive, I had some problems with 128gb PNY but old 16gb SanDisk worked fine 🙂

Didn't realize it's called service mode, but that's what I've been doing. I've also tried several different USB sticks, always with the same error message. I have a couple more and will try them as well.

Check to see if it needs to be formatted as NTFS or FAT32.
All the mentions in this thread indicate it needs to be FAT32, which is how I formatted mine.

Correct, it needs to be FAT32.
You've said that you are trying to install 21.10 - what FW do you currently have?
have you tried zip from my 1drv? (22.10/22.11)

I was in the middle of posting that I successfully got it installed when you posted this. I had to use your 22.11 (mod) files for it to work. My build number is now gminfo3:5.1.1/INFO3-PS22.11-8/39:user/release-keys/ .

The car still had its original build from May, 2018 and had never been updated: gminfo3:5.1.1/INFO3-PS21.172E-1/307:use:/release-keys/

Many thanks for posting the files!

Just an update that my wife said CarPlay is no longer crashing during a phone call. "Happy Wife, Happy Life!"

For anyone looking to get the latest update, here's 22.11 that I pulled directly from SPS and updated my own car with. Install at your own risk. Must be loaded on a USB 2.0 device formatted in FAT32 format. Turn car to accessory mode and plug in USB. You will be prompted to install. It will take about 15min. Instructions say to not open the doors during the update.

Hello all! Just dropping a note that I successfully upgraded using this link. Looking forward to seeing if this stops the CarPlay crashes. One thing I noticed, I swear there was a "GS Swoosh" when starting the car. Now it's just a Buick symbol. Is it my memory? Is this expected? Not a big deal but curious. (I have a '19 GS) Thanks.

p.s. Is there any difference in this version vs. the one that @kdiqq posted above?

Can confirm the 22.11MOD did work flawlessly with my 2019 Buick regal tour x. What a headache that had been to deal with! i am so relieved! Dealer wanted to charge me $200 for Diag fees alone, and then the upgrade on top of that. Took about 15-17 minutes to complete. Could not have been easier.
