- 2011 Lacrosse CXL
I have a 2011 CXL and over the past month I have noticed something odd happening with the URPA. Whenever I start my car in the morning and it is pretty cold, 25 degrees or below, and put it in reverse the car beeps rapidly for about 5 seconds and then stops. The beeping is identical to what it does if I am too close to an object while backing up. I figured that it was just because there was snow on the bumper and didn't give it much of a thought. Yesterday I started my car and it put it in reverse to leave and it did it again. This time I put the car back in park and went and looked at the bumper and there was no snow or ice on it.
At this point I called OnStar and had them run a diagnostic and everything came back fine. They transferred me to GM customer service and he told me to clean off the bumper, which I couldn't do because I was driving. When I got to work (30 min drive). I just put the car in park, and then back in reverse and the URPA behaved NORMALLY.
My suspicion is that the system gets wonky when it's really cold and as it warms up, it's fine. Have any of you experienced this? Is it worth taking to the dealer to have them look at it?
