Hello, I have a new to me 94 wagon and it’s been modified.. the car came with the tow package and someone before me removed it and swapped it to the (2) electric fans.. And of course I’m having the issues with them not working.. I got the car not running and most of the interior in a box.🤦🏻🤦🏻. It’s got smog stuff removed and cold air intake
The car has been lowered and the electric ride hight triggers the compressor (you can hear it running… ) but the ride hight doesn’t change.. I’ll find the fuse and remove it till I can get to it (unless it’s not that easy🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️)
I just this weekend replaced the opti-spark,plugs and wires.. Car started right up and purrrrs like a kitten.

Sorry I went on a bit.. my question is about the rear door/ hatch/glass. Now that the car is running I opened the rear and I heard a pop? and a motor that sounded like ride hight compressor started running.. it never shut off… I slammed the glass down an it went off… the handle on my glass is all jacked up and I need to replace it. I’ve looked on eBay but obviously am calling it by the wrong name because I only get pictures of the side rear glass.. so anyone know how to source that? The next time I tried to slam it shut the noise won’t shut off and I got busy an it ran the battery dry..
I have read a few posts and see people referencing “Car-Part.com” and I’ll try that this week but thought I’d ask here as well. I don’t see a classified section on the forum… might be an idea……..?

I’m assuming (that’s a bad word) this handle and the connector to the rear (5th) door is the issue with the noise?

As the car is new to me and I know nothing about it I’m at a loss. I don’t know anything about its options or base level. Car had the wood removed and repainted. All I know is it had the tow package and cloth/velour seats. The guy before me couldn’t get it to run one day an let it sit… I love the car and wanna make it my daily..

Looking for help on this rear hatch handle and the motor running… maybe a closing assist? I have a 68 Devile and you get the trunk deck close and it shuts it for you..
the guy who painted it did a great job of removing all badges and stickers in door areas.. 🤦🏻

If the electric fans provide enough air flow for the tasks you want from your car, then you might consider using a Dakota Digital item that I'm using in my 2004 Xterra. I modified it by removing the engine-driven plastic fan that was cracked all the way around and installed a pair of SPAL fans. (They're noisy, but they work.)

The controller was able to take the input from the single-wire temp sensor used for the temp gauge, which is installed next to the 2-wire sensor that the ECM uses.

I use my phone to more easily set the On and Off temps for each fan individually. It can also be installed to run both fans as a single unit, but I prefer individual Low Temp and High Temp fans.

I can't share images, so this link will have to do:

Electronic Fan Controller 70 Amp with Bluetooth Control

Daily… that is a great backup plan.. I have the Dakota Digital fan setup on a classic truck with a hi/low taurus fan.. that fan pulls a lot of power (I need to change it out) and I think it’s constantly blowing fuses. But your setup is way better than a toggle switch.
Can you send who you wired it please?

Any help on the rear hatch? I’m not sure what’s going on with the handle and that motor?
Thanks!

It is actually a very simple setup.

The 1-wire ECT sensor goes to the controller's Sensor terminal. The rest are pretty straight-forward: Ground, Battery +, Ignition, and the 2 fans.

I don't recall using the AC or Disable terminals.

I have a physical switch between each Fan terminal and the fan it controls. Each one is a SPDT (single-pole, double-throw, center-Off). This lets me wire the Controller's Fan outputs to one terminal of the switch (NO or NC), a matching polarity to the other terminal, and then wire the COM terminal to the relay coil. This allows me to control each fan in 3 modes: Temperature Controlled, Always On, Off. I also added a small LED next to each switch that is wired to the COM terminal. Then, when that fan is powered, the LED tells me. It's the perfect alert that my Low Fan is on so I can be watching for the High Fan next.

Pressing the "Set -" button on the controller allows me to see the ECT's reported temperature at any time.

Not sure what to say about the tailgate latch/switch/motor. When the window opens, there is apparently a switch that turns on, which then likely tells some controller module (or just a simple relay) to turn on the motor that you hear.

You may want to see if @BossHog39 has wiring diagrams for you. There is a thread here where he has made an offer, and I recently benefitted from it.
