I am giving my car a tune-up but I am not sure what tools I will need to remove the fuel filter. My friend says that there is a quick connector on the fuel filter and I will need a special tool for that.

My only problems are that, I dont know where to get one of these tools, or what kind of tool it is. Is this connector on the fuel filter called a "connector" or a "coupling"?
Is this quick connector or coupling a certain size? Like do I need a specific tool size for the connector on the fuel filter?

depending on application the quick connects on the fuel filter are made to come off with simple hand tools. the ones that usually connect to the fuel rails require the special tools. Some newer vehicles have threaded flare nuts on one side and quick connect on the other for fuel filter. More often than not, threaded nut IS RUSTED in place.

A 5/8 line wrench and a 21mm open end wrench will get the job done.
