Window switch problem

I have a 2011 Buick lacrosse

my issue is the driver side window switch. The driver side window works but the 3 others do not work however they work fine with there respected door. The side view mirrors also don’t work. I was thinking it might be the switch but I see the window switch and the mirror are two different switches. Would it be the wiring? What is your suggestions before I start digging in to it.

Probobly unrelated I do have a starting issue I believe is the starter. It makes a single click. It’s getting worse and it takes about 5 turns of the key for the engine to crank over and start. I got a new starter I’m putting on Monday.

This window switch has me stumped. Also do I need to remove the door panel to access it or will it “pop” out. Thank you

First guess would be the drivers master control module on the door which would control all the windows. Not knowing the history if the mirror control went out at the same time, after or before as they are two independent controls. Here's a Ebay link so you can see the parts.

This may be something as a broken or damaged wiring harnesse in the door or between the door and frame connection. Best guess until something gets confirmed good or bad. Hopefully others will have additional suggestions on the problem.

Thank I really appreciate the help. I’m going to take the panel off this weekend and see if there’s any damage to the wiring etc mike you said and go from there. I’m not sure if they went out at the same time it was like that when I bought it

Also have same problem after getting hit in the back left side, my right side window will not roll up

Those driver's side window control modules easily fail with a bit a rainwater corrosion (e.g. from leaving a window open before a rainstorm). Replaced a bunch in GM cars.

There are other possibilities including shorted wires somewhere.

Same problem but had Buick Service department check the control switch. The power side view mirrors and master window control are all on the same 7.5 amp fuse located in the fuse box under the hood. Fuse nor the master switch was the issue. Mechanic believes their is corrosion in the fuse panel. Recommend replacing to correct issue. Repair estimate was about $800.00

You must remember GM (Buick Motor Co) awarding that contract to a person living in a dark alley, in a two bedroom 'siheyuan' (Home) in a small town in the deep forest in China to manufacturer those circuit boards....called electronics. And another thing to remember....never thrust electronics

You think buying a used switch from Ebay will need to be reprogrammed by GM again? Can I plug the used one in and go?

If you are referring to the drivers door master control those don't need programming. Just make sure that the Ebay seller has a return policy on electronics if the part wasn't checked before selling.

Hi, Did you find an answer to this problem? I'm experiencing similar issues with my 2011 Buick Lacrosse cxs where the driver side control module cannot control the other 3 windows except the driver's side. I have replaced the switch module and still does not work.

Having the same problem on 2011 lacrosse CXL. In my case also the mirrors switch doesn’t work. Tried to replace both panels without resolution. Technician found that panel missing electrical input and said it requires digging through electrical wires to search for the problem.

Same issue, side mirrors quit altogether. Sometimes the window switches work, after turning the car off for a bit. next time I drive windows work again however mirrors are frozen in one position 2012 Lacrosse Premium AWD.

This sounds like dirty or corroded switch contacts. Maybe a victim of a spilled drink or open window in the rain or dog slobber. Some switch assemblies can be disassembled and cleaned. I don’t know if these can. One test is to operate them a couple dozen or hundred times and see if they begin to make contact. Sometimes “contact cleaner” in a spray can can help without even opening the switch.

I have this exact problem on the exact same year of this car, right down to the starter acting up at the same time. Also the lighting around the window panel is out as well. Only thing is that I was also having water pooling in the back flooring from a door seal being loose.

I just bought this 2010 that had same issues. This was the problem. Located underneath the drivers seat carpet. 7.5 amp master switch power splice point. 5 wires total. Also for mirror function.
