hello fellow lacrosse owners! An update on my long search: I was finally able to purchase another buick lacrosse identical to my previous one! This one has a full carfax history report, 1 owner car from dublin ohio, absolutely NO rust whatsoever!! i was informed it was donated and despite only 3 accidents reported, i physically checked the car over and there were no visible dents, scratches or repaired areas. They must have been very minor "love tap" accidents lol. In person it really...

Car starts and runs fine then stalls
by invalid@example.com (buick girl)
15 Sep 2018 at 2:36pm
Okay! So....I start my car and it runs great and is driving fine. I get new gas (have never had problem at this station.) and I drive a bit and it starts riding rough then just stalls! It starts right back up but stalls out again soon after. I can let it sit and idle and it'll be fine for ten minutes or so but when I start driving after a bit it will all the sudden go bad again and stall. I'm cleaning out the throttle body (like really ew.). It was fine a week ago (my breaks went and it...

Gas gauge all wonky
by invalid@example.com (TerryP)
15 Sep 2018 at 1:49pm
This past weekend we went camping and loaded the 2004 LeSabre pretty heavy the previous week. It was squatting pretty good and after driving it all week, I noticed that it was still on 1/2 tank when I filled it up (which took 10+ gallons) and the needle took it's own trip into another dimension and ended up pointing straight down. It does move when I turn on the key but still ended up pointing South.
After running about 200 miles or so the needle started moving the temp gauge , they kept...

1992 Buick Lesabre Limited Wheel Bearing
by invalid@example.com (avtechwx3)
15 Sep 2018 at 1:40pm
Hi Folks,

I am a recently new member and have had one thread so far in regards to a coolant temperature sensor. Thanks for the replies.

Now I have to do a front passenger wheel bearing. I did a pre-surgery trial run yesterday. Took the brakes off, removed the 32mm axle nut with my Dewalt impat drill, recognized the ABS sensor and clip which also came right off. I tried to remove the three bearing bolts after spraying with blaster. I used the 3/8 torx bit with a long handled 3/8 flex...

17' GS and 18' Sportback at the strip
by invalid@example.com (Zeroboostbuick)

Last Friday I went to the local 1/4 mile dragstrip and met up with another forum member 519Turbo.

It was a hot and humid evening, but a fun one anyhow. Temp was almost 90 f and closer to 100 with the humidex.

O.K. Let's get the E.T.'s out of the way...

519Turbo's 17' GS AWD managed 15.0 @ 89, which is better than his first attempt at the strip.

My 18' Sportback 2.0 FWD ??? the little freak managed 14.37 @ 96.19

I hooked up HPTuners scanner to 519's 17' GS during 2 of his runs, but...

2003 Custom Lesabre wasting about 1 qt of oil every 500 miles
by invalid@example.com (ilir9b)
15 Sep 2018 at 11:19am
My 2003 Lesabre with about 138k miles is wasting a little more oil than what the manufacturer's guidelines allow for. I know it's supposed to burn about 1 qt every 1000 miles but this one is killing a quart about every 500 miles.
I've replaced the PCV valve, I regularly change the oil, filters and never speed or rev the engine. I don't see any oil dripping on the street where I park either. I know the car was previously owned by a guy who didn't really take care of it. Is there an easy fix...

Catalytic Converter Issue 2010 LaCrosse CXL
by invalid@example.com (tomtella)
15 Sep 2018 at 11:07am
About 4 months ago, at around 104,000 miles, my check engine light came on. It was P0402, Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1.
I reset the light and it stayed off for about 400 miles, then returned. I went through several cycles of this and then tried replacing the O2 sensors, not believing that I had an actual catalytic converter failure. But the check engine light would faithfully keep coming back on about every 400 miles or so. Finally...

2001 Limited blend door needs repair or replacement -not the actuator
by invalid@example.com (jdeppe)

Does anyone have experience fixing the blend door (not the actuator)? I can't seem to find any info for the Lesabre. There are fixes for other gm models, but I can't find anything about the Lesabre. I have a 2001 limited with automatic dual climate control.
95 Riviera rack and pinion assembly. Installed reman. Do I have the wrong rack?
by invalid@example.com (bigredestes)
15 Sep 2018 at 1:00am
I installed a remanufactured rack assembly on my 95 Riviera, and now wheels are way out of alignment. Have not filled fluid or anything yet so not sure if it will correct itself by filling and bleeding system. Can't see that helping to correct this. One wheel is almost straight while the other looks turned all the way to the right. I think I have the wrong rack. Everything bolted up right. It is a Magnasteer system. Is there something I need to do to correct this or is it just a case of the...

92 Lesabre water pump replacement woes
by invalid@example.com (OptimistPrime)
15 Sep 2018 at 12:24am
Hi there. I've got a 92 Lesabre that I've owned for some years now. It's been a decently easy to work on car until I ran afoul of this particular issue. My water pump recently went out. Easy swap, or so I thought, but it turns out my generation of Lesabre requires you to remove a motor mount to reach the pump. So I've been trying to get that mount off. I jacked the motor up until the power steering reservoir touched the engine cross member, removed all the bolts, but the mount won't come...

Universal and Direct fit Catalytic Converter
by invalid@example.com (laytonwilliams)

I have a question has anyone used a universal catalytic converter on their 2nd gen lacrosse and the codes stop coming up. Or is everyone using the direct fit.
