thats awesome! just curious and you dont have to answer but how much is the bill on something like this.
well.... lets just say my budget going into the project was around 1,500.00, and im over triple that... The only issue is that really to gain 150+whp is usually around 10k dollars on a v8, plus supporting
mods. Assuming were throwing a blower on it. Relatively its cheap... However, being that im one of very few ppl to do this on this vehicle, im running into all sorts of issues that are really nickle and diming me.
Kyle i gotta tell you man im so impressed with you
ever since u got that car you have done the nicest and most experimental work on it - cars sick as f$%k man i get some of my ideas on what to mod in my car just from looking at what youve done
hows the car doing whats the update? that thing sounds like a beast now we know it hauls ass but hows traction on it ? GS mode keep that traction in line?
Well i truly appreciate your compliment. I have a passion for cars just like all of us here. I wish i could keep shit stock, because i would probably save a huge headache sometimes, lol. As far as an update I'll explain below. I havent gotten to play with suspension yet, but when the car does hook in second gear, it is a rocketship to 100+mph.
Oh god that sounds so sexy. Keep it up, I'm living my car dream vicariously through you
haha.
As far as an update. I was quoted on a stage 4 clutch, but sold a stage 4+ south bend clutch and went with an aluminum flywheel. When we pulled the old flywheel off it was trashed after just 2 days of driving on it. The clutch, however, looked perfect- it just will not hold the power. The new clutch was fantastic for the first 10 miles that it lasted (and the aluminum flywheel was badass). Unbeknownst to me, the stage 4+ clutch is a race clutch with double the pressure of a stock clutch and definitely not what i wanted on my daily driver.
The clutch went to the floor on my way home from the shop, damn near almost causing me to get into an accident and i got stranded on the side of the road, ultimately blowing the throw out bearing. I have to haul the car back up to ZZP, and pray that they stand by there work and will swap out my clutch for something that is more oriented towards my goals, that were clearly stated before i began modding. ZZP seems like they are a good company and wanted to work with me to tweek my tune until we get it perfect. So as of right now my car will be up there until it is 100% ready to be driven home.
