Buick/GS Logo Color inserts

"Rigid" not "ridged". NOW I understand how the front decals can be installed!
I do like the way they look. I can surely see them on a Regal or Verano but not sure they fit in with the somewhat "menacing" appearance of the GS!

haha thanks for clearing that up.. I had my emblem blacked out at one time I might go back to it.

im trying to make mine a sleeper, so the more grandpa the better. Merica'

Ill post this in here, as I did the other insert thread:

You can remove the front logo and separate the chrome and black piece! This makes it easy for installation! You HAVE to use vinyl though, no rigid piece, as it is too thick. Make the vinyl larger than the holes so the two pieces sandwich the vinyl and it stays in place. The front logo is only held on my 4 clips, I honestly just pulled on mine and it popped out.

nice...I was kind of.afraid to break that peice. I still like the.idea of having some sort of backing for the.vinyl. once.the.vinyl ages it might not hold up to a pressure washer.

For those who were interested in a carbon fiber GS insert, i gave it a try this morning and it was mostly a disappointment. With the size of the GS emblems the fiber shown on the vinyl it really doesn't show well. pretty much anything other than being right up on it, it looks like the stock black emblem.

Maybe my emblem had been replaced before I got my car? But I did not have that black backing piece, so I cut pieces of plastic to the shape of the openings and glued them to the back of the emblem then glued the inserts to the pieces I cut out. Might help someone in the same situation as me.

Thats strange you didnt have any sort of black plastic lip on the inside?

Is it a 2012 or 2013?

Bump

Been a lot of newbies, let me know if anyone is interested.

I'm ready to buy...those colors look great. Can you send me a private message with details/paypal info. thanks

Jim

just a bump - i bought these inserts a few weeks ago and installed. was pretty straightforward and for the most part turned out very well. 🙂

The colors are pre-cut, and you place them in. The front logo is the only one I was able to separate and place in. Just wiggle and pull on the front logo, it comes out.

Finally got around to putting mine on, it went pretty easy. Hopefully they last.

Excuse the dirty car, but here's the pics.

How do you actually take the logo off of the steering wheel to put the colour in? And how do you take it off of the front and back too?

Mike
as mentioned before the inserts for the steering wheel drop inside the logo. tweezers are highly recommended to do this easily.

the front logo comes apart in two pieces. i ended up making my own inserts for the front logo and did it a different way than the OP's kit. the rear logo inserts drop in just like the steering wheel.

the hardest ones to do IMO are the GS letters, especially the passenger dash logo due to being TINY.

thumbsup on the bowtie 😀
