Does your vehicle have a Gen 1 system?

Yes, I believe all the 2018 Regals have the Gen 1. I just requested a quote from the dealer.

Good luck working with the stealer/dealer! Do not be sucked up into their sewer pipes of "give me money" and I will fix it!!

Cool. Glad there's an upgrade path for poodle with wireless charging phones.

My 2018 has wireless charging, however I can't use it because my phones are too old (one i5S and two i5's). 😇😱

All three work fine, so I'm not about to buy updated iPhones. I have no problem charging with Lighting Cords. (I'm cheap) 🤑

The charging port on my 3-year-old Samsung phone has filled with pocket lint so it's barely useable anymore. I'm able to charge wirelessly in the car pocket (cool!) but I have a 10minute commute, and keep forgetting I've left the phone in the car when I get home. So for now I just charge at home. But I'm going to be getting a wireless charging pad for at home/office to keep the phone useful once the cable port completely dies.

When you do upgrade your phone, just don’t get the XS as it won’t work unless you get the charger upgraded.

I'm bummed my iPhone 8 doesn't work in the charger. Seems to me the upgrade path should be free from GM.

True, but glad they are selling a retro kit. Still waiting to hear from the dealer, but it looks like a $60 part and 15 minute install so hoping to be in and out for a $100.

Has anyone had the new charger put in? I have an iPhone Xs and the bulletin information isn't clear if the new charger applies to the Regal.

It says to "Refer to Bulletin #18-NA-153 for additional parts information as well as model and model year applications. Some models may require modifications and/or additional parts to accommodate the installation of the Gen II system". See attachment which may help.

Still waiting to hear back from my Dealer to confirm, but I am fairly confident it does work with the XS

See the GM Wireless Charging Compatible Device List attached file.

That's what is not clear. The Regal isn't listed under note C in that document.

I did some more research and verified the part number for the new charger does fit the 18+ Regal and it work with the iPhone X.

Only issue now is my "stealership" wants to charge $115 for the part and $200 for installation. The bulletin literally says MSRP for the part is $99. It can also be purchased online for $60.

Module Pkg - GM (84526978) | GMPartsDirect.com

I'm going to look into installing it myself. The center console has to come apart.

It seemed from the notice that it's more on phone size then vehicle update, but then again GM doesn't make phone's thank God LOL.

As far as the upgrade the only wildcard is if it's a Tech 2 reprogramming update needed as it could be a simple plug & play. Before and after installation I would keep an eye on the battery just in case it's one of those GM design issues that drains the battery because it isn't getting turned off.

I assumed by the dealer price that programming was needed, but now that makes their price a complete ripoff. You wonder if they walk into McDonald's and got a bill handed to them with a 200% markup they would come back again LOL.

I just ordered 2 of the Module Pkg - GM 84526978, one for my Buick TourX and one for my Silverado.

Question: Has anyone installed this in a TourX or seen online instructions or a video?? I looked at my center counsel today and it appears to be all one piece.

Thank you, Scott

If you can, I know people don't like dealers, but see if they can print an exploded view of the center counsel. If not look at the GM online parts stores for the same type of exploded view as most of the time it's easier if you can see what is hidden.
