The nails are now getting pounded into the coffin of the Sedan.
R.I.P. Passenger Car.
😱
American Consumers have left you for dead.
Traditional American Manufacturers farmed out the last remnants of the Market Segment..
Issued the DNR, & now have decided to pull the plug on the Life Support Car Supply Chain Machine.
in the interim between the electric self driving car and the George Jetson flying car...
We'll get...
4 cylinder exhaust (er uhm turbo) helped aspirated underpowered - crossover looking hatch utility things
that the Global Manufacturers will force upon us based on their market research and perceived consumer driven demand studies.
To digress and answer a question posed in post # 2 about GM's brand marketing names...
Chevy:
Cars = Mostly Entry Level for the few millennials and snowflakes that actually know how to drive
SUV = Entry Level for the dying breed of Moms who still shop retail instead of online
Trucks = Entry Level for the Landscapers and few remaining tradesmen that can perform work
Pontiac:
The Aztec killed this once perceived perforce perceived branded Chevy type car marketed to the slightly above entry level consumer.
Oldsmobile:
The Predecessor to Buick's ultimate fate.
" Buick's next ad campaign " It aint your dead Granpa's Encore anymore "
GMC:
Cars = N/A
SUV = Mid level - More Garish looking Grille than Chevy's SUV for 35% more MSRP.
Truck = Mid level to Premium - For the Wine & Cheese Set to go antiquing on the weekends
Buick:
Cars = N/A
SUV = Mid Level - Oh Boy ! The Encore and a few larger ones.. woo hoo !
Truck = N/A
Cadillac:
Cars: Premium - DOA too... Cancelling 'em and sooner than later..
SUV: Premium - Costs more than the median selling price of home.
Truck: N/A
So, for those of us Buick owners in the former GM Hierarchy of Branding....
We'll just now retire, and die in our Escalades instead of a nursing home.
