The Ultimate Buick Regal Is Discontinued Discussion

No push button start? Even base model does not have old style ignition switch you put key in.
I'm pretty sure no remote start, maybe it's still a button but anyway...

The poverty spec Regal existed for the guy who was trading in his 1994 Century and was ticked that he couldn't buy another A-body GM vehicle.

Bet that SV1 is still on the lot or sold as a Taxi

I believe it was sold immediately. No doubt it was snatched up by crazy Regal drag racer who wanted lightest wagon available.

I pity the fool, as you can get a loaded Essence for less now.

Wait a minute, the one with the creepy mannequin is a 2019 with red needle gauges and the new UI ?
I think all base car has red needles, but not the same kind of instrument panel as the early 2018 ones.
Look no further than the orientation of the numbers of the tachometer and speedometer.
These ones have the numbers oriented right side up instead of following the curvature.

When the TourX Was introduced around Dec 2017/Jan 2018, I went Looking for a 1SV to see if that was something I was interested in.
I could not find one or get a price or info on one at any dealer. At that time I did get a good look at the car.
Back then there was no way I could justify buying a well equipped TourX for what GM was asking.
Lucky me as a year later I purchased a MSRP 40K Essence for less than I thought I could have bought the SV1.

Thank you for satisfying my curiosity.
The SV1 out there probably are going to sell for 20K, maybe less.
At that price, still a nice package.

I got my Preferred II w/Bose audio and LED headlights for $20k. The dealer also gave me around $2k more for my trade compared to other dealers. I contacted something like 10 dealers to find this deal.

I see thousands of Chevy Malibu everywhere I go. It makes me wonder: how many of those buyers could've purchased a new Regal instead? Possibly even cheaper? But they did not because most of them did not know Regal existed or disliked "Buick is for old people" idea. Malibu is just a cheaper scaled-down Regal, but it sells well and there are no plans to discontinue it.

Regal has no competition. A5 is crazy expensive. Audi service is crazy expensive. They lose value fast. Arteon is up there as well, way overpriced.

I get compliments about my Regal almost every day. Everyone who rides with me says the comfort is amazing. When I tell them how much I paid for the car they would not believe me.

The nails are now getting pounded into the coffin of the Sedan.

R.I.P. Passenger Car. 😱

American Consumers have left you for dead.

Traditional American Manufacturers farmed out the last remnants of the Market Segment..
Issued the DNR, & now have decided to pull the plug on the Life Support Car Supply Chain Machine.

in the interim between the electric self driving car and the George Jetson flying car...

We'll get...
4 cylinder exhaust (er uhm turbo) helped aspirated underpowered - crossover looking hatch utility things
that the Global Manufacturers will force upon us based on their market research and perceived consumer driven demand studies.

To digress and answer a question posed in post # 2 about GM's brand marketing names...

Chevy:
Cars = Mostly Entry Level for the few millennials and snowflakes that actually know how to drive
SUV = Entry Level for the dying breed of Moms who still shop retail instead of online
Trucks = Entry Level for the Landscapers and few remaining tradesmen that can perform work

Pontiac:
The Aztec killed this once perceived perforce perceived branded Chevy type car marketed to the slightly above entry level consumer.

Oldsmobile:
The Predecessor to Buick's ultimate fate.
" Buick's next ad campaign " It aint your dead Granpa's Encore anymore "

GMC:
Cars = N/A
SUV = Mid level - More Garish looking Grille than Chevy's SUV for 35% more MSRP.
Truck = Mid level to Premium - For the Wine & Cheese Set to go antiquing on the weekends

Buick:
Cars = N/A
SUV = Mid Level - Oh Boy ! The Encore and a few larger ones.. woo hoo !
Truck = N/A

Cadillac:
Cars: Premium - DOA too... Cancelling 'em and sooner than later..
SUV: Premium - Costs more than the median selling price of home.
Truck: N/A

So, for those of us Buick owners in the former GM Hierarchy of Branding....
We'll just now retire, and die in our Escalades instead of a nursing home.

If you ran a business and was losing money, would you continue too do so so the consumer had choice and variety?

If my Owner/CEO salary and all the employees were getting paid, and expenses were paid, and the business was my passion, absolutely. But then again, I have no problem with non-profits and serving a community.

Long term profit v short term profit often has different priorities.

Profit in business comes from repeat customers, customers that boast about your project or service, and that bring friends with them. - W. Edwards Deming

How many of you Regal customers are now willing to do that for GM or for Buick? Prior to the Regal's cancellation and axing of anything not CUV/SUV/Truck how many of you would have been willing to tell people that they ought to give GM a chance?

That is awesome, thanks for sharing. Sure hope somebody builds one similar from a TourX. But that Tempest was a factory racer? Those days are certainly long, long, gone. Kinda sad.
Wellcome Gguy... it is much sadder if your a old crazy Pontiac guy.

Some day y'all are going to have to come to grips with the plain and simple fact, "Cool Kids Don't Buy Stationwagons".
I refuse to believe that I'm not still cool.
