2014 Encore cooling fan problems

2014 Encore, started having this issue too! Replaced the battery and still have had to jump the car 4x in two weeks! And it's the cooling fan running after it's shut off. Would be nice to know exactly what the fix is.

I've had the issue as well, but the source of my issue was was Relay 6 going bad after installing a new battery( I guess it would still read on). I'd suggest wiggling it or removing it to see of the fan stops. If it does then it's the Relay(This shouldn't be a thing)

Had the same issue. After having multiple relays replaced and the fuse box replaced over the course of a year, they finally had to replace the entire cooling fan itself. They said the fan was drawing in too much amperage which was causing the relays and fuse box to burn out

I am having this issue right now. Only thing is my coolant level has not been low. I have had to pull the relay switch #8 to get mine to stop. Dealer can't figure out the issue so I am taking it to a different repair shop to have them look at it.

Folks it's in the main box in engine compartment. Lower RH side second from bottom. Labeled RLY06 tape it with a screwdriver when key is out of ignition. Fan will stop. If it fails other direction. No AC and overheat. Probably the most cycled relay in car which is why it wears out. GM PN 13500120 $15.00 need to order most places nil stock but next day. Have fun.

I have this same problem on my 2015 Buick Encore. The fan will stay on until the battery dies. I also have a slow coolant leak that there dealer could not find the source after checking the pressure. Were you able to resolve it? If so how?
My mechanic indicated it was the coolant lines leaking onto the exterior of the turbo and burning up before it would hit the ground. Those got replaced. Also had a cracked manifold and and broken flex pipe on the exhaust below the catalytic converter. Pricey repair but would've been twice the cost at the dealer.

Has anyone recently had any problems with their cooling fan not shutting off after the car has been turned off? I have a 2014 Buick Encore that I bought in 2015. It has 64,000+ miles. Mine recently has done this several times now. Each time the fan stays on and drains my battery. I've tried pulling the cooling system relays (positions 1 & 3) but no luck. I've also noticed my coolant fluid has had to be topped off about 3 times in the past 6-8 months. Once fuse has been replaced and the problem did stop briefly but now it is happening more often. Any ideas on how to correct this?
One of 3 relays

The relay you need to change is R6 in fuse box beside the battery. I've had this two occasions now and it's been the relay in R6. The relay to far right, second one up from bottom. It says GM and the number 3760. It's a $8-14 dollar part, depending on where it's purchased.

My 2014 Encore just started doing this. It’s the second time! The dealership says it’s my fuel pump and I need to pay almost $900 for parts and labor!

same issue for the second time now replaced the battery the first time and now 3 months later it is happening again

I just replaced this part today but it's kind of cold in Missouri so there's not a way to tell if it worked. Is this what fixed it in your encore?

Fuse box close to fireball 60 amp fuse.I have same problem mine is a 2013

went through this and checked relays, couldn't make it happen again but noticed fan wasn't turning on or at least not on high then noticed some fluid leaking so took to dealer and they replaced the radiator. brought it home and A/C not working, just blowing hot air so took it back and dealer replaced a/c compressor, recharge, test for leaks. wife took it to grocery store and back to dealer again and finally they said loose relay so they replaced the whole fuse box next to batter and all good now. Like 10 days in the shop!

Just had my 2014 buick encore in. My cooling fan was running after shutting off car. First checked fuse was good. Hadmyfan okay replaced in Nov 2021.

There's 7 relay on the board. One is low. Med and high. Mine was the mid fan relay. If looking at board there's 3 boards in a row on tight side. The middle one was bad reached. All isgood
