Same experience here with my 2018. I had a leak from a hose rubbing against the engine. The hose was replaced and the system recharged. Ever since then I have noticed the compressor seems to be noisy when running. I wonder if there was a change to the oil that is used when they charged the system? There was no noise before the leak.My 2019 makes the same noise...but it started AFTER they replaced an A/C line last summer for an unrelated issue. It never made the noise before it was serviced, but last summer my A/C went out and when I brought it in I was told it was a leaking line and they ordered the part. Several months later when the part arrived I had it installed and have had the buzzing/whining noise ever since. Not sure if the part was an updated part or not.

I know this is an old thread, but I just bought a 2020 TourX that had the same issue. My dealer adjusted and tightened the compressor lines so they would no longer make contact with the cars body. Completely quiet now.Has anyone else noticed an electronic humming/whirring type noise on their cars, especially when stopped or at low RPMs (more noticeable at low speeds due to wind and road noise not drowning it out) with the HVAC set to Auto or with A/C on?
The noise is definitely compressor related as it will disappear when I turn the HVAC off, and won't return with just the fan on. It will only return when I purposely turn on the A/C or put the system to "Auto", i.e. the compressor kicks on.
I sort of noticed this noise since new, but didn't think much of it. Now I think the noise is getting louder. Certainly annoying, really buzzes in my ears while stopped.
I plan to test drive another Regal or Malibu with the 2.0t to compare as well as have my dealership check it out. Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.
Your friend, You’re funny.I can confirm my 2019 makes this noise as well. I have a hunch like some have mentioned above that this has to do with 1234yf (yf stands for your f.......). I'll leave the rest up to everyone's imagination, lol.
Just saw your new post on this old unsolvable issue, any chance you could share the name of the dealership and the tech who solved the problem? I want to take my TourX in to address this issue and it sounds like he cracked the code...I know this is an old thread, but I just bought a 2020 TourX that had the same issue. I wouldn't call it a whoosh sound more of a vibration. The AC in my car sounded just like the video posted in this thread by 96americanluxury.Wait, so you don't have that woosh noise now when the AC is running?
Do you know which areas were tightened?
Thank you, I've been waiting a year to address this, and now at least I have a possible solution, much appreciated!Lindsay Buick, GMC out of Warrenton VA. I worked with a Service Manager named Carlton.
