Getting ready to buy a TourX next week

Yeah I bought it and I live over 2 hours from him! It was a minor flood car. My family has been buying cars trucks and SUVs from that dealer for the last 12 years(9 vehicles including a few trucks we use for work daily). any issues we had and he takes care of it. Mark includes a warranty on any flood related items. He replaced all the fluids and pulled the interior out to make sure nothing was damaged. He has pictures to prove what was done. In the end he work a few thousand off for being repeat customers. so for 19k I bought it
Just curious, did your insurance company give you a hard time it being a salvage title?

nope it doesn't cost any more. they are well inspected by the state for safety and road worthiness. my sister totaled a jeep she bought from him after 3 months with a prior salvage title. She ended up with more money then what she initially payed for it. the book value wasn't much less then a clean title.

Thanks, that's surprising. Back when I was in the car business (about 8 years ago) a salvage title was the kiss of death. Maybe things have eased up a bit. Sounds like you have a good dealer to work with.

That's awesome, I had texted Mark and told him I had found a different one, so I'm glad the one he sold ended up on the forum. Their operation seemed really smooth, my issue was that I live 5 hours away, so if I had any issues it would be a nightmare to get it up there and get things worked out. If I still lived in Minnesota I probably would have at least given that one a test drive. That Rioja Red is a gorgeous color.

I ended up buying mine from Luther out in Brooklyn Park. The big dealerships are never a great time, but the TourX I grabbed has been great to me so far. Although my brakes have been absolutely shrieking at low speeds in parking lots, and there's plenty of pad left so I'm not sure what the deal is. I had it inspected by my local dealer and it all checked out so whatever I guess. I paid 24k, which I was not happy about, and the wouldn't negotiate, but it is a CPO vehicle and the warranty still has some life left on it. My Volvo that I was trading in barely made it to the dealership in one piece so I was kind of in a pickle anyway.
