Custom Bose Bypass Harness

I’ve stopped buying things from PayPal and EBay because of a $200+ purchase I made long ago that went bad. PayPal wouldn’t return my money so they’ve lost me as a customer for life. Similar rule in place for Amazon for a different issue. I paid full price for my cargo rail from a GM parts seller rather than the heavily discounted prices on eBay just because of this.

Good luck with your claim.

By the way, I tried to pull my USB/Aux assembly out and had trouble getting any sort of leverage. Screwdrivers are too long to get under the little pry point and I think I need something with a thin 90 degree angle. I need to look around the house to see if I can find my iPhone try tools.
Guess what?! PayPal approved my claim and refunded me $44.50. I also get to keep the USB module, which I can save as a spare or sell on eBay or something.

I got a phone number from an Impala forum for a lady named Jenny Davis with JD IVI Systems LLC, and I contacted her about the USB modules. She clarified that the USB module I purchased from eBay was specifically for ‘14-‘17 year models and it would have been compatible with HMI 2.0. She said she had a module with two USB ports and a 3.5mm audio jack that would work in my car. The hurricane delayed the shipment for a few days, but I have it and will install it tomorrow. No SD Card, but at least I can have two USB devices connected simultaneously.

My quest to upgrade the factory USB module in the center console is finally complete. I have replaced the factory-installed module, part #13596807, with part #13519224 and it works flawlessly.

I now have two power/data USB ports and a 3.5mm analog audio jack instead of just a single power/data USB port.

So, just to clarify the part numbers I tried, their port setup, and whether or not they worked, here’s a list:

I‘m still hoping to find a compatible module with the SD Card slot, but I can work with what I have.

I finished installing my sound system yesterday and all I can say is OMG!! This Audison amp/DSP is one fine piece of Italian ingenuity! It sounds amazing with just a basic configuration. I can’t wait until I get the full tune completed.

The rear door speakers thump pretty hard with the doors being sealed up. I expect the same from the front speakers once I seal the doors completely, although they sound great now.

The subs slap pretty hard! I won’t even bother comparing them to the Bose subwoofer. They will only get better sounding as they get broken in. Two 10” subs is just perfect!

One thing I’ve noticed is I haven’t had any of the usual quirks from the Intellilink system. No screen freezing, USB disconnects, or loss of steering wheel controls. This could very well be the result of removing the Bose amp and installing the Axxess AXDSPX MOST interface. All of the chimes are working perfectly too.

I am thoroughly pleased. This is by far the best sound system I’ve ever owned.

So I encountered the well documented full Intellilink system freeze a couple of weeks ago. No audio of any kind and even a full system reset didn’t fix it. I stopped off to visit a friend for about a half hour and when I got back in the car it was fixed.

Since I’m using the Axxess kit instead of the Bose amp, that points to the HMI as the source of these system freezes.

Also, just a lil update on the sound system… the subwoofers have been fully broken in and it’s a different car than it was when I first installed them. They’re impressive, and they will get down!

I haven’t done much of anything since Thanksgiving and probably won’t until next month. I’m so glad Spring is not far off! I have some Hertz MPK 165.3 Component speakers for the front doors and I have to finish sealing the front doors.

I may have missed it, my apologies. Can you list out your setup that you're so pleased with?
What speakers, amp, dsp's, etc.

thanks!
