I have a 2011 Buick lacrosse

my issue is the driver side window switch. The driver side window works but the 3 others do not work however they work fine with there respected door. The side view mirrors also don’t work. I was thinking it might be the switch but I see the window switch and the mirror are two different switches. Would it be the wiring? What is your suggestions before I start digging in to it.

Probobly unrelated I do have a starting issue I believe is the starter. It makes a single click. It’s getting worse and it takes about 5 turns of the key for the engine to crank over and start. I got a new starter I’m putting on Monday.

This window switch has me stumped. Also do I need to remove the door panel to access it or will it “pop” out. Thank you

I just bought this 2010 that had same issues. This was the problem. Located underneath the drivers seat carpet. 7.5 amp master switch power splice point. 5 wires total. Also for mirror function.
Dll

Darrick are those wires in the black sheathing under seat on top of carpet??? I only see that one sheathing with plug ?

Did you ever resolve your issue? I have exact same problem

It’s in the main wiring harness that runs underneath the carpet. There is a black cover that this wiring loom runs through on the sill panel. Drivers side. You will have to remove the carpet and drivers seat for best access. Carefully open loom and cut away the the tape. And start searching.

This is what the splice looks like when you find it. This is factory

Wow thats crazy no connector just deterioration of the wires?? Thanks for the info. Sounds like a big job.

Hi, Did you find an answer to this problem? I'm experiencing similar issues with my 2011 Buick Lacrosse cxs where the driver side control module cannot control the other 3 windows except the driver's side. I have replaced the switch module and still does not work.
I have had the same issue with my 2011 Buick Lacrosse. Master switch only works on drivers side window. The mirror switch is out also. I ordered a replacement. Hope that's the issue. I also read a blog that talked about 2010-2011 Buick Lacrosse has many problems that happen and Buick doesn't feel the need to do recalls. What a shame! Try and support Domestic manufacturing hmmm. Getting tired of stupid stuff going out and no recalls

Same problem but had Buick Service department check the control switch. The power side view mirrors and master window control are all on the same 7.5 amp fuse located in the fuse box under the hood. Fuse nor the master switch was the issue. Mechanic believes their is corrosion in the fuse panel. Recommend replacing to correct issue. Repair estimate was about $800.00
Sounds like a bunch of BS to me. Same problem and the fuses are fine. What a pain! No reason at all these vehicles should have this problem. Just cheaper materials used and they don't want to pay for a recall

And yes I just tried a new Driver's Side Master Switch I purchased. Same problem

Derrick, YOU ARE A GIFT!

Similar problem in my 2010 Lucerne, but driver’s window was erratic until complete failure.
All other functions on master control worked OK. Bought driver’s door switch module with no change.
Direct power to regulator drove window up and down without a problem.

After seeing Derrick's post,I got an abbreviated copy of the wiring diagram for the door modules and found the following:

1. The RED/WHT wire to J1 (large/Black) connector on the driver’s door module and other door/accessory switch modules, supplies the main 12V drive power for these motors & solenoids. This shows to be powered ON all of the time thru the 25A WINDOW CIRCUIT BREAKER 56 in the rear fuse block. This seems to be the source of the wiring that Derrick found broken. CHINA CABLE FIX!!! ??

2. All of the functions of the driver’s door module (DDM) other than the driver’s door window are driven by transmitted signals to the drive receivers for that proper function; ie, windows, locks, mirrors, etc. This power is supplied by other smaller wire to other connectors on the DDM. It is the tan color wire on the window control connectors J2 & J4.

3. I also found, in another thread, that the RED/WHT wire could be broken in the harness where it comes into the door from the cabin of the car. Check this thread ( 2009 Lucerne driver window intermittent ) for a picture of this problem.

I’m now off to tear my car apart to find and fix a broken wire, I HOPE!!
I hope that this will add a little to this discussion and keep others from tearing their doors apart before checking that RED/WHT wire on the door/accessory module connectors.

Well I found my broken wire! I took my own advise and checked the cable coming from the cabin to the door and guess what, there it was the broken wire! About 1 ½ inch back from the connector on the door cable side the RED/WHT wire with a clean break that looked like it had been cut.

FYI; The insulation of these wires, big & small, have become less flexible, harder and prone to cracking. For the people that have ANY problem that relates to the DRIVER’S DOOR you should take a look at this cable before checking other possibilities.

Those driver's side window control modules easily fail with a bit a rainwater corrosion (e.g. from leaving a window open before a rainstorm). Replaced a bunch in GM cars.

There are other possibilities including shorted wires somewhere.
I think this is what happened to mine. Is this an easy fix? I sometime left my window cracked by mistake over the years and now only the one button works for the driver side window, the other three and child lock don't work. My mirrors work fine only this panel.

did you ever get your window issue figured out?I have same exact issue from the looks of it, this is a known issue, but for some reason nobody has mentioned a solution.

So I have a 2012 lacrosse with this problem, but add in the eco snowflake button doesn't work, the home link doesn't work but is illuminated, and driver sun visor doesn't light up. I did check to see the red white wire does have power at the connection at the door. Need to open the door up and check in there. I was probing the wire harness and only the driver window functioned.
