TSB 19-NA-100 Radio Software Version 22.8 and TSB 19-NA-249 Favorites Grayed Out- Nov 4, 2019

sorry for a dumb question ...

i downloaded the files .... how do i install it ?

thx
Format your USB drive with FAT32 and copy all files in the folder to the root of the drive.

Plug into your vehicle in park and follow the onscreen instructions.

my car refuses to update to 22.11 from usb ... mb because i need 22.10 first ? but i dont have any link to download it .

I have GM's techline connect programming at the repair shop where I work. They are real GM files I bought with a vin subscription for my car. It shouldn't matter what version of software you have. 🤔

Usually, there is a problem with the USB drive, how it is formatted or size, etc. All files should be in the root directory.

Be careful updating these files. My dad is a GM tech and has brought home his computer to update my radio and I've watched. It takes a LONG time and we had to put the car on a battery charger. The update files were specific to my VIN and they updated the actual radio module behind the scenes, in addition to the front facing software.

This was way more arduous than I've seen on Ford and Chrysler vehicles where you just plug in a flash drive.

Has anybody managed to successfully use the 22.11 files supplied?

Also who has the 22.10 files handy?

Interesting thing about this upgrade package is that it includes the Caddy, GM, and Buick animations. I havent checked further but I'm curious if we can get this update to load and we replace these animations with OPC for example if they'll be installed as default? Its not like the system is checking the checksum files for the graphics or audio files

Can you download the update file from techline direct without being connected to your car? If you can download the file straight it should be VIN agnostic.

Yes, I don't need to be connected, although I put my car's vin in the system to get the files. Then load them from my computer to a usb drive.

Sorry I don't have the 22.10 files. Also I would have to buy the vin subsciption and can't guarantee the files would work.

Guys, enjoy:

Re-upload of 22.10 + modded 22.11 - I wasn't able to install it from image provided by @AWD 2.0T ('failed to download' error), but with some small mods I've successfully upgraded to 22.11 🙂
One thing to mention - on my mod there is missing finall reboot, so after 10min of black screen I've decided to push ON button and unit booted up properly.

Thank you!! Any pointers as far as the "mods" ?

I've compared images for 22.10 VS 22.11 and noticed that in 22.10 there are no extensions after filename even files can be extracted via 7zip so it's just an archive without "zip" - I've removed all "zip" and "gz" extensions. Also there were two cfg files that didn't exist on older image so I've removed them. After that installation was successfull. Probably those cfg files could be related with missing reboot at the end, but at least it installed without any errors 🙂

Thank you!! Interesting that they used zip compression for an android based head unit as they're not you the usual norm for Linux. Since you looked at the files I don't suppose there is a flag that can be set up allow side loading apps from adb?

Np! Didn't dig too deep in those files, but it seems that we should be able to edit build version so we can cheat the version check and install custom OS with same base image. It have been a while since I've build my last custom android for Samsung, but we are on Android 5.1.1 so there is huge chance for rooting and enabling sideload. For sure will look in it, any specific app you'd like to install? Maybe we could add it to the build 🙂
