2014+ Digital Cluster Retrofit in a 2012 Regal GS!!

This is so cool! Ever since I sat in a '14 I've wanted to do this to mine. The gauge cluster and center stack in the '12 suck.

If listening to Faith Hill is wrong, I dont wanna be right 😉

No. I bought it brand new. The odometer is stored in both the BCM and cluster. I had to recode the BCM from scratch, code the cluster, marry them, code the radio, learn the key with SPS.

I am integrating the entire infortainment stack into my car and in order to take advantage of it, you need an updated cluster. Whether it be the small screen one in the base or the 8" one in the CXL/GS like I put in. The part number is 23197316.

Hell of a deal on ebay right now, this cluster is 500+ from a dealer!

This is the cluster I've sent in for reprogramming; looks like I'll be the guinea pig to see if whether or not these are brand new clusters that are super cheap, or the seller is selling "like-new" parts from salvaged cars.

I'll update the thread once White Auto begins work.

Just purchased the GS cluster for my '14 Premium II and shot White Auto an email. This will make a nice January project!

The install went well, in case anyone is wondering it's 11 screws for a 2014. I did lose my vehicle's preferences when I disconnected the battery, but that's a quick fix. I do have a "Service Adaptive Cruise Control" message when the car starts that I'm not sure about, considering the car doesn't have that feature. Anyone else have that problem?

It sounds like they didn't disable/or accidentally enabled the Adaptive Cruise Control configuration when they programmed the cluster. Is yours a Premium I, Premium II, or GS? If it's a PII or GS, do you have either of the Driver Confidence Packages?

It's a PII with confidence package #1

Like we said in our last email, we are more than happy to take a look at it and rectify anything to get this straightened out for you. We DO watch every single error message prior to shipping to make sure only the appropriate systems the car actually has are enabled BUT being human and as intricate as this is it's certainly possible we missed something; we'll get it handled for you. Merry Christmas!

Wait -- you're human? LOL

I wish I were closer to you guys - as a software/UI developer I'm genuinely interested to see how you guys do what you do. Also greatly appreciative of the services provided and the complexity involved. Looking forward to getting my cluster on the other side of the holidays!

Part of the reason I asked which model supernoma had -- my '14 is also a PII with Convenience Pkg 1.

I also wish Buick would come up with better naming conventions for their models, options, and option packages -- a Premium II with Package 1 which contains Forward Collision Warning is nominally close to Automatic Collision Preparation and Adaptive Cruise Control on Package 2; neither of which are available on the Premium I.

Thank you Mr White. I'm not finger pointing or complaining about the quality of your services, I'm just discussing my experience with the swap. I was a previous customer of yours and I wouldn't recommend anyone else for this type of work.

Totally agree, the packages are a little daunting but we thankfully (apparently except in this case) we break them out by RPO first LOL 🙂

PS yes somehow still human, although feeling like a cyborg right now; I need some rest!!

Oh I know, I just didn't want other people to think we weren't ready to take whatever action was necessary to get your situation remedied 🙂 It's totally possible that I shifted a bit, just can't believe I would have missed it on the startup error check after but hey its possible!

There was an error in my original pinout, the check engine control needs to be on pin 16.

Updated the diagram. Will continue to update as I work out the bugs.

Just curious - what was the outcome? Were you/GTPprix able to resolve the error message?

Hope everything is resolved, haven't heard back from him so I guess thats a good sign? 🙂 If we need to adjust it we'll be more than happy to!

I'm still getting the message. I got sidetracked with the holidays and now unexpected home repairs I haven't been able to try any fixes myself before contacting White Auto again.

Mr. White, Anything I can try myself that wouldn't require dealer intervention?

Thread update: I won't be able to post an update for the service ACC message as my Regal was totaled in an auto accident last week. I'm confident White Automotive can resolve the issue for anyone else who has the issue.

If anyone wants my cluster I'll have it up for sale for $100+s/h. I'll even send it directly to White Automotive if you want to save on shipping it to him.

Damn dude... you are ok though right?!?! On another note this is a smoking deal for someone! I believe I was able to figure it out, what a wonky deal! Should have feedback here pretty soon I would think 🙂

As a second point of reference for everyone, Chris has been working on a cluster for me. I ran into the same issue as supernoma - after programming, my cluster was throwing the Service ACC message. Chris has been working hard to make it right and I hope to be able to report out positively in the next week or so.

Thank you for your patience; I won't rest until this is perfect and I *think* we've got it this time 🙂
