2014 Enclave Transmission

I too have the same problm on 2014 Enclave. It's been happening since we bought it in 2015.

The dealer said that they could not replicate the problem.

Is there anyone who has had this problem and has gotten it fixed?

I have 2014 Buick Enclave, FWD and I have the same transmission issue. Usually turning a corner and slight uphill turns between 1 and 2 gear. It feels like it's missing gear and then will slam into gear.

Same Here!!! Feels like transmission slips in my 2014 Enclave Premium (FWD) at slow speeds after turning and then grabs and slams into gear. Took it to my dealership and of course no problems found.

I have 60,000 miles now and was told it would be covered under the (5-15-2020) 70,000 mile Power train Warranty? Does this sound correct?

Is there a fix to this. Dealership knows this is a big problem but doesn't know what to do? Was wanting to upgrade to the new Enclave Avenir but this stuff doesn't help.

I have a 2011 Buick Enclave CXL with the towing package which has been experiencing a shuddering problem at 40 mph and 60 mph and when climbing hills with a full load. A local reputable transmission repair shop test drove my Enclave and diagnosed the shuddering problem as a defective torque convertor. I had originally planned to get this work done but was concerned that this may not be the problem at all and that I may end up paying for other expensive solutions that don't seem to correct the problem.

So I had the transmission oil changed then made a long trip through Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio and Michigan. Nothing changed and the shuddering continued.

It was then recommended that I add some fuel injector cleaner to the gas the next time I gassed up and after I did, the shuddering stopped. It's been some four to five weeks now and still no shuddering. My vehicle's now runs quieter and smoother and accelerates better without shuddering with or without a full load. I will be testing it shortly climbing steep hills to see if the shuddering will return. I will keep you posted.

Is anybody else willing to try this fuel injector cleaning treatment and report the results to this forum?

John

What do you thing about cleaning fuel injectors & only using the high Octane gas on fill ups? I also have been experiencing the shuddering problem but only after making a turn and experience a miss when accelerating then slams in???

I'm having the same problem with my 2014 Buick Enclave Premium (FWD) with 60,000 miles. I took it to the Dealer and they said they couldn't find any problems. Can you help with a solution?

I have posted this before. I believe the fix is to completely flush with Mobil 1 LV ATF and re fill. I know it's the fix on newer GM cars dealers will use about 20 quarts... Not 100% on older but wouldn't hurt. If you keep driving while it's shuttering you will be replacing the converter.

Took it back to the dealer and got a different service person from last visit and this person seemed a lot more attentive to my situation than the person I worked with last time. I informed her that I had been advised about a Moble 1 transmission flush. She said the mechanic said to use Dexron Tranmission fluid and not Moblie 1 Synthetic because my 2014 Buick Enclave is a 6 - speed engine? She also said they would test the fluid and look for metal in the fluid. I hung up thinking I would pay for a Dexron Transmission flush and the problem was not going to be fixed.

To my surprise, she called back and informed my when they tested my fluid it was black and should have been red and there was metal present. She said they would replace my transmission under the 70,000 power train warranty (I have 60,000 miles) but it might take a while due to the GM strike. So I'm driving my Enclave waiting to be called.

Just curious why my transmission fluid was not tested before since this was the third visit. Not sure about this result if I had used the person that had previously waited on me???

You are right about the dextron fluid. The Mobile fix is for the 8 speeds and GM does them on some Cheverolets, I was thinking it might be the fix for the Buick problems as well but I guess there is not a specific bulitin on Buicks..... Yet....

You have any insight as to why my fluid was not tested on the first two visits?

I took my 2014 Enclave Premium AWD in for diagnostics on slipping "shuttering" in gears when going from 2nd to 3rd and occasionally on the highway. They determined it was the torque converter and recommended options of a transmission rebuild or replace. They provided estimates in cost. Could you shed any light on this being a consistent issue with the Enclave. It looks like the forums identify this as one. Also can you provide what are some average estimates in replacing the Torque converter, a trans rebuild and trans replace. I'm the only owner. Also does a warranty come with any of the three options if I am getting it done at my Buick dealer?

If it's the torque converter then the transmission has to be replaced. A jar test was done and my transmission fluid was black on one of my replacements. It took a week on the first transmission replacement & two weeks on the second transmission replacement. Luckily it was covered under my 60,000 powertrain warranty as I don't drive a lot of miles. Transmission replacement will run in the ballpark of $6,000. MY two new transmission came with a 3 year / 100,000 mile warranty.

If your transmission is shuddering then you have a bad torque converter & the transmission has to be replaced.

Why not change just the torque converter..

I have a 2014 Buick LaCrosse with 70K miles and it shifts rough between 1st and 2nd gear typically only at low speeds around the 10-15 mph range. Once in a blue moon it will shift rough at higher speeds. Sometimes its fine and sometimes its rough - not sure what the deal is, but I just bought it from a certified Buick dealership who says its fine - even though its not. Glad I am not the only one experiencing this, dropping $17K on a car with rough shifting like that is disconcerting.

I previously owned a different 2014 Buick LaCrosse with 142K miles and it did the same thing only much worse at times, I got rid of the car because of the issue and thought by buying the same car with lower miles would solve the issue... it certainly didn't. Must be a major flaw in the design of this year. It's sad, love my buicks, hate the ride now, which was NEVER the case.

If any has found a way to fix this issue, please let me know.
