Anyone buy a spare for the GS?

I think having two regal gs's is a bit over kill.

I guess your right they probably should have just ordered it and called. I guess im so used to being disappointed when i go to a car service establishment i was happy with getting a new wheel... its sad really. Anyway it was discount on gratiot just north of 14 in clinton twp.

Ahh good, the other side of town.... 😉

Well, I probably should have bought a spare while I could:

😡

Business trip to Indianapolis (from Milwaukee) in that nice snowstorm yesterday. Snow covered freeway in Indiana, couldn't see the gaping split in the road, and hit it. I'm 280 miles from home and my car is now at a Firestone. Nice old lady found me a replacement 18" Buick wheel which will be my new spare that will go on the rear for the trip home. Now I have to find a replacement BMW rim for that Blizzak >.>

Indiana has seriously some of the shittiest roads I have ever driven on.

Yes. We have shitty roads, but the state of Indiana is not in debt up to its eyeballs like many of the States surrounding us. My 19" wheels and tires have actually handled really well on the snowy potholed streets this year. I'm really impressed by the factory RSA tires... granted they only have 12,000 miles on them.

I guess karma didn't like my comment cause I hit a pot hole the next day and blew out my tire as well. Just got a new one mounted. I didn't even bother with the fix a flat goop in the tire kit they include in place of a spare.

Well after serveral weeks they finally have my wheel in. The guy says "Yeah, we had.it for a while now" Then he comes in saying "oh it was the one with the curb rash?" I felt like saying "I dont know you tell me, you guys F'ed it up" . Im definatly getting my wheel back now. What a damn clown show.

My dealer made some nice gouges in my 20's when they were removing the tires. I was furious, but they had it corrected in a timely manner. No cost to me. Sorry to see your experience isn't going too hot.

Just wanted to let everyone know who has a 2011-2016 Regal GS with the big Brembros up front that I just purchased a spare tire from a company called Performance Spare.

The website is a little screwy, but you can find the kits for the Buick Regal GS under the 'products' tab. It still lists them as pre-order, but I was possibly the first Regal GS customer.

I got mine today, and it installs/clears the brakes perfectly! I'm glad not to rely on the fix-a-flat supplied by GM. Also note that the regular Regal (non-GS) spare won't clear the Brembros up front. The Performance Spare is an 18in wheel with a full-speed rated tire--no 55mph limits. Still, just remember that as-is, it's a touch smaller than the stock 19/20in GS wheel and tire combo, so when installed on the front tire, the car will pull away from the spare while driving and pull toward the spare when braking. The IS EXPECTED and a result of the slight size difference. Otherwise, it's not meant for long-term use, just long enough to get you home where you can replace your full size tire. It works great and fits (with the jack supplied in the kit) in the trunk/spare wheel well! (I'm not sure a stock-equal diameter spare would have fit in the trunk well.

I did order the GM retaining nut (part no 1161908) and used it to secure the jack in place. I did place two thin, small terry towels between the jack and spare to protect the spare's finish from scratching. Als, there was just enough space around the bottom to store the jack handle/lug wrench, etc. (DO NOT order the foam insert from the base model Regals to hold the jack/handle/etc. It won't fit underneath the Performance Spare.)

Anyway, hope that helps! See the attached photos. For now, be a little patientwith the guys at Performance Spare--they just got these in and are shipping out the pre-orders, so it may take 2-4 weeks until yours arrives. Tell Randle that Paul in Brmingham sent you!

Thanks, paulbohnen! I ordered my spare tire and jack combo from Performance Spare - it arrived in very good packaging and within a short amount of time. It fits perfectly in the spare well with no room to shift around. I'm planning on getting the GM part to bolt it down soon.

I love having the option to actually change out my tire instead of relying on AAA or that stock inflator kit!

On the performancespare.com site, why is it listed for '14-15 GS and not '12-13?

I emailed them about the 14-15 GS. they confirmed that the spare kit 2012, 2013 will work

It fits my 2012 like a glove - not sure why the site only says 2014-15...
