Thanks to your write-up, swapping the cluster only took about 3/4 hour (hardest part was attaching the trim removal tool to the air hammer). But now I'm working on the touchscreen on/off feature & of course, the AC/Delco site shows a different touchscreen connector (20 pin) whereas I've only got 10 pins with 5 wires. Have found the power wire & now looking on how best place to mount a switch...

...odd thing about the cluster though, my car only has a single connector (the fiddly one with the hinge release), but everything seems to work fine.

Still have a few hours of work left splicing wires on the BCM to delay the touchscreen graphics, but the proof-of-concept worked, so it's all over except the splicing & the gin...

Just an FYI for you "red needle" (Pre Ethernet Applications) we've worked out the brand changes as well for those quite a bit more selection actually. Opel, OPC, OPC Unlimited, Vauxhall, VXR, VXR Unlimited etc...

How much is the cluster itself? I have absolutely no luck sourcing one myself.

Have to tread lightly as we arent a sponsor here yet however the page has been updated and all options added including having us supply a brand new unit that carries the full GM warranty. Took a bit to code out the selection/availability of logos etc.

I have one more question- does splash animations means correlating theme will be in the cluster as well?
Also, how do I know what is the OS I should pick?Mine is 2018 red needles-do I get IO5/IO6 cluster or you guys will figured this out by VIN number?

And one more question- if I select an option for HUD- that doesn't mean I have to install right away, correct? I could do it anytime and it will work just fine without it?

For instance if you choose say Opel it will have an Opel startup logo and coloring theme/graphics when in use; same goes for the other options. This selection is really intended for those who are going to “rebadge” their Regal to another vehicle such as an Opel Insignia etc.

Q: What is the HUD Retrofit Option?
A: This enables the unit to drive a heads up display. Yes it can be installed however we do not provide support for the installation or wiring end of it. ALL of the clusters we supply have the HUD output. If you have Forward Collision Alert and choose to have the HUD retrofit option enabled your Forward Collision Alert light (in the dash) will not work but will be shown in the HUD after you add it."

I think service fees and the price for a new instrument cluster are very reasonable. Aftersales support is also a big selling point for me. Some companies are charging $149.99 just for "Mileage Programming". Overall this a smoking deal in my opinion. I paid in the past $199 for "BMW Speedometer Cluster LCD Display Dead Pixel Repair"
