Check engine light came one and threw out fault code P2261. I googled it and it seems to have something to do with the turbo. Anyone know more about this code?

Do you have an aftermarket BOV? I'm pretty sure that's the same code I had. I had a forged motorsports non atmospheric bypass valve and the o ring broke. Got a thicker one in there, cleared the code and it never came back. I'd check the bypass valve, especially the I ring.

I reset the code twice already and it came back. As indicated in the other thread, I will put regular gas in after this tank of E85 is gone and see what happens.

Thanks for keeping us in the loop.

Do you have a tune?

I've had it over a year, I only use it for passing and other situations where I need the extra boost. Everything is stock, I have not added anything to the turbo. I've been using E85 without any issues, I went back to gas after February when my job location change and I needed the most miles per tank. Last Monday I filled the tank with E85 and a couple days later I got the code.

Hi goobee!

If you would like to provide me with your VIN, I can look at your vehicle specifics and see if there is anything I can assist you with. Thank you!

Hello Jessica, I will be making an appointment with the dealer next week. I imagine they will be backed up after the holidays.

It's definitely getting worse. During hard acceleration yesterday, it starting bucking really badly, power, no power, power, no power... Sort of felt like someone learning to drive a manual transmission and struggling to get it into first gear.

Thanks for the update! I would definitely try to get the vehicle diagnosed as soon as possible. Please keep me posted as to your dealership visit, and let me know if you have any questions in the meantime.

Hey man, this sounds like what mine did back in January. While trying to shift into third, I felt a loss of power and then it felt like I was trying to start off in third gear. That's when I got the smell of a burning clutch. The car's performance has been inconsistent. Some days it's fine and peppy, and others its sluggish and doesn't like to rev match. Plus the exhaust burbles and pops during shifting and deceleration. Well needless to say, the car is at the dealership right now waiting to get a new turbocharger. Just something for you to think about.

Man I hope not. It's driving fine again which is scary. Not as scary as stepping on the gas and feeling like someone struggling with a manual transmission (especially since I have an automatic) but scary nonetheless. 😱

Goobee,

Any updates on your issue? What's the good word?

I haven't had a chance to take it in, been busier than a one-armed paper hanger. 😡

As with FatherDeth, it's running perfect right now which is scary. I will try to get it in next week if at all possible.

I finally got around to taking the car in. Today is the second day its been in the shop, they are replacing the Turbo bypass valve. I'm also getting the "push twice to open" the trunk fix done as well while its at the dealer.

Tooling around in a Cadillac SRX, the thing feels like a boat. You really get spoiled in the Regal. 🙂

Glad you're getting it taken care of. I understand how you feel, I couldn't wait to get rid of the rental Tahoe I had while my car was in the shop.

The SRX has all the goodies but isn't for me. They're going to have to pry my cold, dead hands off the steering wheel of this Regal before I give it up. 😉

Man I hate the dealer!!!! 😡

Got my car back today, they said they test drove the car for 6 miles and everything was hunky dory. I got on the freeway to go home and 20 minutes later, the TPMS warning indicator went on. The idiot didn't reset the wheel sensors after he rotated the tires. Great. 🙄

After I got home, I did the "let the air out of the tire" trick (which works by the way). While going from tire to tire, I notice one of the wheels was damaged. It looks like he dropped a tool on it while it was off the car. 😡 I had just washed the car the other day before I took the car in and would have noticed it while I was cleaning the wheels. Not worth arguing with them at this point. They can easily say I damaged it with road hazards. 🙄

Goobee,

I am sorry to hear about this! If you would like me to contact the dealership and look into this further for you, I would be happy to do so.
