motor shuttering while at a light

I have had a few customers who I have sold cars to complain of this as well. So this is an ongoing issue. It's not fun as a salesperson explaining to someone that it is normal for their $30-39k investment to sputter at a stop sometimes... That being said mine does it sometimes as well- 2011 Turbo.

Anyone know how to get in contact with a Buick Engineer? I would like to try and explain this to them.

Mine has been running like a beaten down dog lately without a tune. Temps have been > 95 degrees all month since August and the ol' girl has been sluggish and idling very rough.

So the shutter after driving a distance and then coming to a stop is the a.c compressor. I am like 99.9% sure. Mine does it too, as well as the chevy cruze. my dealer has done atleast 30 compressors on cruzes. all 30 have fixed the problem. There is a tsb for 2011 cruzes and this exact condition. Replace a.c compressor i believe with a redesigned compressor.

As for the hesitation again im sure its one of the solenoids. they are relatively cheap. However this should be a warrantable item. The cause of this problem is going too long between oil changes. When customers purchase GM vehicles im sure a salesman stresses the fact that you only have to change the oil when the car tells you too. This is true, however what they dont tell you is that in the owners manual, under maintenance it explains that the oil should be checked when going extended mileage by following the oil life monitor. I changed my oil at 800 miles with mobile 1, then again at 5800, i now have about 7700 miles on a 2012 GS. I have had absolutely no hesitation issues at all. However i have the a.c compressor noise. My dealer has just been too busy to get it done. A/C still works perfect so not a huge deal.

Has anyone followed up with their dealer on the shuddering? Mine has not gotten any worse, but it's not any better either. Shuddering only occurs after driving at a sustained speed for a few miles and then coming to a complete stop. It will run rough for a couple split seconds and then smooth back out. Shifting from drive to neutral will instantly cure the problem, but that is even more annoying than the shudder.

CanAmChris,

If you need additional assistance, I would recommend contacting your local dealer. Feel free to keep me posted and contact me as well if you need anything. Thank you.

Tricia, Buick Customer Service.

I am no expert on this topic but I have read that the shuddering seems to occur when the ambient air temp is close to the dew point temp. This causes condensation and it builds up in the intercooler causing shuddering or stalling in some cases. This seems to be a problem with ford ecoboost engines as well.

The more the turbo is kicked in, the more likely you can have the shuddering problem.

I say poor design. I dunno.

Have the stutter as well. Pulled into my drive yesterday, AC off, car bucked and stuttered a bit but didn't stall.

2500 or so miles. Noticed it few other times as well.
